2007 Multi-membered O,S-heterocycles R 0691 Hydrotalcites as Catalysts for the Baeyer—Villiger Oxidation of Cyclic Ketones with Hydrogen Peroxide/Benzonitrile. — Three hydrotalcites with variable Mg/Al ratios act as catalysts for the title reaction of cyclohexanone under mild conditions. The catalytic activity increases with increasing magnesium content. The presence of ben- zonitrile is essential for the oxidation reaction. Substoichiometric amounts of a surfac- tant improve the conversion and the catalytic activity while preserving 100% selectiv- ity. The best catalyst among those studied is also effective in the oxidation of other cyclic ketones with excellent conversion results. — (RUIZ*, J.
