Hrvatska Elektroprivreda d.d. (HEP) intends to use the proceeds
of loan from the European Bank
for Reconstruction and Development (the Bank) to fund the
construction of Ombla hydro power
plant (the Project) located in Rijeka Dubrovaka bay
approximately 5 km west form the town of
Dubrovnik, Republic of Croatia .
The Project, which has a total estimated cost of approximately
EUR 130 Million equivalent, will
require:
1. Preparation works and organization of work site and
construction site;2. Construction of:
o access roads;
o potable water supply structures;
o underground dam;
o bottom outlet;
o water intake and overflow structures;
o power house building and switchyard;
o control buildings;
o power connection to the transmission and distribution grid by
underground cables.
1. Supply of goods and equipment:
o mechanical equipment;
o hydro mechanical equipment;
o electro mechanical equipment;
o electrical equipment;
o IT and telecommunication system equipment;
o equipment for potable water supply intake.
1. Monitoring system;
2. Supply of works and services for installation and
erection/mounting of goods and
equipment;3. Layout of working schemes, plans, specifications,
user manuals and instructions;
4. Clients staff training;

5. Testing and commissioning of equipment, parts of the system
and complete system,
together with integration into generating facility capable of
effective operation with
guaranteed values;6. Supply of all other goods and services
necessary for full plant functionality;
7. Eliminating all possible faults during the warranty
period;
8. Potential consulting services for procurement and project
implementation support.
The majority of power plant structures should be accommodated
under the ground, which
requires specific construction and geotechnical work connected
with drilling of large diameter
wells, underground excavations (underground grout curtains),
grout curtain construction, closing
of underground river canal and cave conduits.
Tendering for the contract is expected to begin in the second
quarter of 2011.
Contract to be financed with the proceeds of the loan from the
EBRD will be subject to the
EBRDs Procurement Policies and Rules and will be open to
companies from any country. The
proceeds of the loan will not be used for the purpose of any
payment to persons or entities, or forany import of goods, if such
payment or import is prohibited by a decision of the United
Nations
Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the
United Nations or under laws and
regulations of the Purchaser Country.
