CONCEPT:

The initial motivation of the project is to provide a space for groups gathering together and having some fun. To be more specifically, it attempts to promote interpersonal interactions, especially when the development of internet techniques changes the way of communication into a more virtual and isolated orientation. This results in lacking opportunities for facing each other and moreover narrowing individuals’ social circle down. So, drive by an ambition to improve the situation, I proposed it.

SECTION PLAN A

The project is designed nearby a lake in a city park, surrounded by a pretty quiet atmosphere. In terms of the design concept, I adopted an opening style, used natural resources such as wood and also constructed a large range of area with glass, for all I wanted to make was a bright, comfortable as well as friendly place.

SECTION PLAN B

Glass Ceiling stretches to the edge of the building, and covers half of it. Viewing from distance, it looks like flowing water pouring down from the top, integrating tbe building and ambient environment.

I n C h e n g D u , b a s i c a l l y November to March is indeed sort of gloomy.There is a large of fog-like gray that is nearly perpetua l ly over the sky.I use a lot of glass which can improve natural lighting and reduce the need for electric lights.Meanwhile,soft hollow-out partitons are substituted for walls in order to make the fresh air and sunshine go through this space from West to East.Interior design with green plants makes people 's activities and communiction u n d e r a p u r e a n d f r e s h atmosphere.

Characterized as theme-free, the place embraces any vis itors as long as they indicate a will to share their thoughts and interests. Here, no matter who you are you are allowed to further your interests, host themed saloons, suggest original ideas, make speeches on readings or maybe just visit by and grab a cup of coffee.

With the chaging of the four seasons,different solar elevations will make up different hatching e f f e c t s . I t he l p s t o bu i l d a shadowing atmosphere for the interior space.

Book shelfs,desks and chairs are movable.This is a free space of permutation.Glass roof maximizes natural light and gives a relaxed communication atmosphere.

Recycled wood materials and bamboo give people a warm,simple,plain and cofortable feeling.

COURSE:Exhibition Speace Design

The inspiration of design comes from Jigsaw puzzle, which can form thousand kinds of forms by different combination. Overlapping, inclining and scattered triangle and trapezoid form the general structure of the exhibition hall. The dominant color is orange and blue, which are a pair of contrast colors and also the popular colors of brand in those days. In addition, the contrast of the two colors gives people visual impact and strong fashion attraction, which, makes the exhibition space more vivid and full of vitality. Meanwhile,the five letters-KENZO will be formed through the design of the walls.

COURSE:Speace Design for the Restaurant and Entertainment

IT is a Chinese restaurant that allows us to return to traditional lifestyle from the hign-speeded modern urban one.The restaurant aims to spread and inherit the Chinese food culture.Thanks to the application of elements of ancient Chinese construction and ideas of Buddism and Taoism,we have opportunities to comfort ourselves in space tranquility and liberty,even to enjoy Zen,and to comprehend the nature of life.

FUNCTIONAL ANALYSIS:

The first challenge was to creat a complete,convenient and rationally distributed scientific space for a restaurant in the original elongated space.The Yin-yang theory provided inspiration for me. I devided the floorplan into two parts;the open and semi-open part as Yang and private part as Yin.

The design scheme applied traditional Chinese architectural element and decorative pattern for reference, such as sparrow brace with plum blossom pattern, plinth and chapiter with the shape of lotus, moon gate of garden, and so on. The intention with classical taste and implied meaning expresses the harmonious and profound view of nature of the ancients. Every plant also entrusts different feelings of ancient literati.

Naturalness is regarded as a central value in Taoism.To attain naturalness, one has to identify with the Tao;this involves freeing oneself from selfishness and desire, and appreciating simplicity.

KITCHEN ELEVATION VESTIBULE ELEVATIONMounta in and water are the indispensable elements in Chinese garden landscaping. Flowing water is designed at patio. Lotus on the water and the impending scroll build an elegant scenery.

Among the flowers,plum blossom,likes a deep lasting bonds with the gentleman and it is the symbol of Chinese spirit.

The design of the door and picture frame with a circular inside section and squarish outside section reprents the triditinal Chinese philosophy. The square represents the earth and a circle represents the heavens.

COURSE:Office and Commercial Space Design

The course requirement is to design an office for a company of our choice and provide adequate work spaces for 15-20 people.The original plangraph was provided by our teacher.I design this contemporary office that fits the needs of an small software development studio E-LIFE. Choose the semi-open,vibrant and bright design style.The design uses rolling cubes and prisms through the office,providing a dynamic space. A opening working environment can creat a brisk and comfortable atmosphere for work and communication.

Combined with the company's functional requirement, the space is divided into two main areas: reception area and office area, locating respectively at two sides of the hall, which do not interfere with each other. Reasonable function division can take greater use of the space and increase working efficiency. The scheme takes blue as keynote to emphasize modern technology and rational and scientific working concept of the studio. Superposition of color blocks with deep color and light color makes the space looks fluid and the studio full of innovation and energy.

PEACE BIRD is a young women’s clothing brand in China.I chose green as the predominant color in this retail,for green color suggests fresh,peace and energy.What's more,green is the color of nature.The elements of bird nests,eges,branches,leaves used in the space will make people feel like wandering into nature.
