NThe year was 1997 and the vision was to, well, to survive and make a

difference. The first invention was an external fixation system, targeting

device, better ESF pins, and better outcomes. Off we went.

Then we got into the habit of obsessing over every orthopedic procedure.

The question was never how can we improve the product or procedure

…it was when! During 2001 the groundbreaking Crimping/Tensioning

system was introduced for cranial cruciate stabilization. This revolutionized

how lateral suture procedures were done and dramatically improved

surgical outcomes.

Shortly thereafter, there was the ‘break off’ bone anchors, then a new

low profile TPLO plate, evolutionary designs for TTA followed by the first

forkless TTA plate and the first cuttable TTA cage, advancement in

coxofemoral luxation, hip resurfacing, fracture fixation and synthetic

CCL replacement systems. Eight patents, several pending, many

innovations and a lot of hard work and dedication, we have moved on.

We are now beginning again, with Everost. Focused on next generation

materials, products, and, of course, re-obsessing over every orthopedic

Today, we are re-inventing again! We are extremely excited

to introduce the Rotax System. This system is a crimpless,

knotless system that allows for very precise, incremental

tension of the lateral suture. A key component to the system

is the ContinuOS high strength fiber. ContinuOS is a one

piece, loop of fiber that has strength and other mechanical

characteristics that far exceed the current fibers. With the

Rotax System, one is able to provide the very best in care,

using the latest advancements and saving on all the

expensive instrumentation. Constant improvement coupled

with new ideas creates success!

RotaX

The engineers at Everost were the first to introduce a crimping

system for the treatment of cranial cruciate ruptures in dogs in

the year 2000. Over the years that followed, they continued to

improve upon what seemed to be perfect. First was the single

action crimping device followed by the double action crimping

device and than new tip geometry.

The one thing that remained constant over all changes to the

system was the precise, error free crimping tool. This remains

the same with the latest Everost crimping system.

The Everost system is calibrated to deliver the perfect crimp

every time. It isn’t dependent on hand strength or surgeon skill.

The only requirement is that the tool’s jaws close all the way.

Fracture treatment for animals started to take shape in the early 1940’s

but implants were never specifically designed for animals. The engineers

at Everost are some of the first to concentrate on designing and

manufacturing veterinary specific trauma implants. These implants fulfill

the mechanical requirements and fit the patient. The Everost implants are

made from the same implant quality 316LVM and Titanium that is used

for production of human implants. Our modern manufacturing facilities

are all FDA and/or ISO registered with very comprehensive and complete

quality systems. We strictly follow all FDA, ASTM and ISO specifications

As locking implant systems continually evolve we are able to take

advantage of better materials, better production methods and

With the new focus being on “biological fixation” an ideal osteo-

synthesis system should provide an ideal physiologic environment

to allow fracture healing, rather than on rigid compression fixation

and absolute stability.

interact with the plate to form a locked construct relieving frictional

forces at the bone-implant interface which helps promote healing

The XORPTION line of cages, used in Tibial Tuberosity Advance-ments, are manufactured using a specially selected compound of

proven bioabsorbable materials. Material selection for each of our

bioabsorbable implants is the most critical part of the product

design. Each implant is evaluated independently with special

consideration given to where it will be installed, the type and

amount of loads placed on the implant, the healing profile for the

fixation and the number of cycles placed on the implant. To ensure

the proper material selection our engineers need to fully evaluate

the indication and all the above parameters. The XORPTION Cage

shares many of the same benefits of the AdapTTA cage.

The Adaptta line of cages, used in Tibial Tuberosity Advancements,

are manufactured using the highest grade of proven biocompatible

metals. The innovative design provides adequate mechanical

properties for safe and effective bone healing.

With the novel “quick clip” the surgeon is no longer constrained to a

specific wing size. The Adaptta Cages allows the surgeon to pick the

correct wing size for the patient and attach the wing onto the

desired cage size.

Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO) is one of the greatest advance-ments for the surgical repair of cruciate deficient stifles. The founders of Everost have designed numerous TPLO implants over the last decade and are proud of the U.S. Patents they have received. Our engineers have now designed a new set of implants that are mechanically strong to allow for effective bone healing without the worry of stress shielding. With advancements in material science & manufacturing, our engineers are excited about the possibilities when designing implants. We are proud to introduce the Everost Freedom Lock TPLO Plates. These implants have a novel hole placement & polyaxial locking abilities. They are produced from proprietary titanium alloy with a surface treatment that increases corrosion resistance, structural strength and reduces the possibility of galling.

WOW! Is normally the reaction when a surgeon looks at this extremely

innovative solution to TPLO fixation. EverLok is a great example of the

passion our engineers have for advancing veterinary orthopaedics.

It’s the first of its kind and offers many benefits to the patient, client

EverLok delivers over 200N of uniform compression across the cut

line. This creates an extremely stable fixation when combining the

compressional forces with the resulting friction on the surfaces. The

locking mechanism between the two implants ensures long term

fixation while allowing for primary boney healing.

Technology like this will make surgeries less invasive, allow for faster

healing and have less complications. The solution doesn’t always
