The Schlumberger Cambridge Research Center (SCR) on the western outskirts of Cambridge, England, is a distinctive marquee-like structure housing multidisciplinary research teams of more than 100 scientists and technicians. Research focuses on drilling, chemistry, fluid mechanics, and seismics, through a combination of theory, experiment, and computational simulation.

The house was designed and built by Ove Arup in 1957, therefore it was essential to maintain the integrity of the original whilst modernising and extending it to suit the new owners. The interior refit retained the existing structure and heating system. The extension included a day room, sauna, shower, gym and pool. The new areas of accommodation wrap around the end of the pool opening and the pool itself sits parallel to the house. Completed : 1994

Kansai International Airport, constructed on a man-made island five kilometers off-shore in Osaka Bay and opened in September 1994 as Japan's first 24-hour operable airport. Numerous planning and design issues had to be solved to realize this 1.7 kilometer long PTB under a single huge roof, creating a large interior complex integrating all architectural, structural and utility system elements. The project was completed successfully overcoming the innumerable problems posed by the necessity to prevent undue settlement of the extremely premature man-made island; to provide means for 24-hour airport operation, proper disaster prevention planning, project planning and construction coordination of the international enterprise; and to provide maritime transport, all within a minimal construction time.
