absorption of GHG emissions
• The EU is about to achieveits 2020 targets
• Targets for 2030 are agreed in EU law
• Business as usual means -45% GHG emissions in 2030 (vs. 1990)
• Without increasing ambition: -60% emissions in 2050

2. How to make your session more interactive
How to make your session more interactive:
• Involve audience from minute 1 and then throughout - Have a conversation with your audience
• Ask for interaction• Ask a solid question at the beginning – or poll them in the beginning and
at the end• Get a show of hands to get to know your audience – type of organisation
they represent, have they been to EUSEW before, etc.
How to make your session more interactive:
• Make the session format relevant & interesting
• The audience is international and for many of the delegates
English is a second language
• Be brief and to the point
Remember: #NoWomenNoPanel
How to make your session more interactive:
• Text format on slides should be large (minimum font 24) and charts
should remain simple
• Give a presentation the audience will remember
• Share powerful and useful facts, figures, numbers (percentage, costs),
the kind of information people will note.
• Conclude with 2-3 messages or key points
• Show a lot of images – instead of text
