Hurst Review NCLEX® Scholarship The Hurst Review NCLEX® Scholarship recognizes Phi Theta Kappa members and alumni currently enrolled in two or four-year college nursing degree programs. This program will be open twice a year and awards up to 25 scholarships of $250 to pay for NCLEX® exam fees and a passcode for free use of Hurst Review NCLEX® study materials. Up to 10 scholars will be awarded in the fall and up to 15 scholars will be awarded in the spring. The 2017 application opens February 1, 2017. Applications must be submitted by March 2, 2017 at 5:00 pm CT. Eligibility Member of Phi Theta Kappa currently enrolled in a community college or Phi Theta Kappa alumni attending a four-year college in a nursing degree program through May 2017. Must be eligible to take the NCLEX® exam in the semester following the award. Part-time, full-time and international students are eligible to apply. Phi Theta Kappa alumni are eligible if currently in good standing with their nursing program and left their Phi Theta Kappa chapter in good standing. A citizen or having permanent or temporary residence in the country where the two-year college is located or a visa considered appropriate by the college. Financial need, demonstration of career goals, academic rigor and community service may be considered in the selection of scholarship recipients. Students with previous associate, bachelor's or master's degrees are eligible. Phi Theta Kappa member must be in good standing. The applicant's academic record must be free from suspension, probation or other disciplinary action. The applicant's record must be either free from any criminal conduct or if the applicant is a convicted felon, he or she must have completed all conditions of sentencing, including probation. Application Complete and submit the scholarship application online no later than March 2, 2017, at 5:00 pm CT. Materials acceptable only via the online application. Mailed or faxed submissions will not be considered. Only applicants with completed applications will be considered. Incomplete applications will be deemed ineligible. This scholarship will reopen in October 2017. Judging, Verification and Notification Scholarship recipients will be determined at random by Phi Theta Kappa and priority will be given to students who demonstrate financial need. All eligible students identified as finalists will be required to submit a Student Aid Report and a copy of their most current transcript. International Students will be required to submit a transcript as well as a form provided by the Scholarship Operations Department documenting proof of financial need. The nursing advisors of all finalists will be contacted to confirm the applicant’s good standing at the college and in the nursing program. Selection of scholars will be by random drawing from the pool of all eligible applicants. Students selected as Hurst Review NCLEX® Scholarship Recipients will be notified by March 31, 2017.
