Lori Fullbright joined the News on 6 team in 1992 and has traveled all over the world covering Oklahomans. Lori anchors the 5 PM news at KOTV each night with Craig Day. She is the station's crime reporter, and in addition to going to crime scenes, interviews crime victims, suspected and convicted criminals and law enforcement officers. Lori's presentation on scams is both informative and timely.

American Mah Jongg meets on the first and third

Wednesdays, 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, in a member’s home.

Mah Jongg is a game played with 144 tiles of varying

Suits, Dragons, Winds, and Flowers. Playing from the

National Mah Jongg League cards, we try to make one

of the “hands” from the card, using the tiles distributed

in the beginning and those drawn from the ‘wall’ during

play. It is similar to Rummy—making ‘sets’ or ‘runs’ with

the tiles drawn. Skill, strategy, and calculation comes in

when deciding which hand best fits your selection of

tiles, the ability to change hands (if necessary) as the

game progresses, and knowing when to make those

changes.

We don’t play for money, just bragging rights!

Sunshine Report

Correction to last month’s Sunshine Report: Jan and Michael Briggs were blessed with their 5th grandson (in a row) - 9lbs 2ozs – Beau Briggs, not Bear Briggs!

D’Ann Bartley and husband Jerry Penn spent 18 days in Santa Barbara, California visiting family and friends. Fun at the beach, dining and wining out, etc. A great trip, including son Nick joining us from New York for the last weekend! Our sunny Santa Barbara experience was spoiled just at the end by a major wildfire burning in the foothills surrounding the city, known as the Whittier Fire. As of July 17, it had destroyed nearly 19,000 acres. Glad to be home in Tulsa! Becky Bouchard and Dave spent eight days on the beach in Ft Walton Beach, Florida celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with their two children and spouses and 5 grandchildren. They renewed their vows with their son and a grandson singing and playing their guitars to their favorite songs. Becky wore her veil from 50 years ago and was escorted by her granddaughter. Tears, laughter, dancing, games, a lot of singing and the BEACH created memories that will last a lifetime. "Until the Twelfth of Never, I'll still be loving you." Pat Kelly and husband just returned from a three-week river boat cruise in Europe; flew in to Amsterdam and flew home from Prague. Great Trip!! Bonnie Singer bought a condo in Liberty Towers on the 22nd floor; loving the view of downtown and the green country to the East. She visited the Houston area with her Tulsa grandson and visited her Texas grandsons in June. Go Astros! Kathy Sullivan just got back from her five-month stay in Florida. She is looking forward to getting back in the swing of things and seeing all of her friends in Tulsa. She had a wonderful trip to Florida and missed all the rain in Tulsa but needed the rain in Florida. Ginni Young just returned from a June month-long trip to Germany which included a Reformation Tour and side trips to Hannover, Berlin, Munich and Salzburg. In July, Ginni is taking her two youngest grandchildren on a grandchild/grandparent tour to Pigeon Forge, TN.
