Dear R. B. Hunt Families:
If you haven’t done so yet, please take a moment to take our School Improvement Survey. This
information will help us plan and continue to improve our school for our students. Unfortunately,
questions 25, 38 and 39 make it mandatory to answer as if you have a child in every grade level.
A link to our survey can be found on our webpage or go to: https://surveys.stjohns.k12.fl.us/
TakeSurvey.aspx?SurveyID=llKM8ml1.
Got Box Tops? Our P.T.A.O. needs them by February 13th. Our school gets money for what could
be considered trash. Please check product labels before tossing or recycling packaging. Look for
the pink rectangular logo “Box Tops For Education”, clip and let us raise some easy money.
Join us Thursday, February 12th for our Chick-fil-A spirit night from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. A por-
tion of the proceeds from the food sales, including drive-through purchases, are donated to the
P.T.A.O. Please come out and enjoy a meal with us.
Isabella Guyton, Henry Benoit, Emma Ramey, and Francesca Charles have read all 15 of the 2014-
2015 Sunshine State Young Readers Award Books. They have qualified to participate in Hunt’s
Battle of the Books. Keep Reading!
Congratulations to our newest members of the Principal’s Million Word Club. Ella Sharman, Jack-
son Taylor, Clara Grant and Caya Asbille have each read more than one million words since the
beginning of school.
Please join the St. Johns County District School Staff for an informational meeting for families
of 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students on “Helping Your Child Succeed on Florida Standard Assess-
ments” to be held Tuesday, February 17th, 6:30 p.m. at Ketterlinus Elementary School. This pro-
gram is designed to answer questions for parents on the new writing, language arts and math
test that has replaced the FCAT. Hope to see you there!
Have a great weekend!

NEW THIS YEAR!
The Run4Hunt is a Color Run! Check your Red Folders for information and registration forms.
Participants will run or walk seven laps (2 miles) around Coach Durr’s Field and with each lap completed, volunteers will mark each runner’s progress with a different color spray. Your white Kaye Walton Run4Hunt shirts will become a won-derful display of color by the end of the run!
The Run4Hunt is for everyone! All ages and all fitness levels are welcome. Invite your friends, neighbors, family members to come help us celebrate and help support the Kaye Walton Memorial Fund.
Be sure you recruit as many people as you can! The class in each grade with the most entries will win a brownie party from Mrs. Parkey; and the class in the building with the most entries will win a party sponsored by the PTAO!

Testing Season is right around the corner.
Testing begins for all grades the first week of March.
Please understand the testing season begins the first week
of March and continues through the end of the year. Still
to come this year for every grade level: End-of-Chapter/
Unit tests, End-of-Course tests, Star Reading, Star Math,
DFA testing, DE testing and the FSAs. Testing is happening
for someone in the building almost every day.
Students need to be in school as much as possible. Emer-
gencies do arise, but please do not schedule regular annu-
al dentist or doctor appointments during the school day
and please avoid tardies and early dismissals.
Students need to be well rested and well fed. Please be
sure your students are getting enough sleep, eating a
healthy breakfast and packing a healthy lunch.
Thank you for your help.
What is the Kaye Walton Foundation?
The Kaye Walton Foundation supports R. B. Hunt students in need of help to pay for everything from everyday things
like field trips and school supplies to big things like emergency housing and transportation. Your $10 entry fee, com-
bined with hundreds of others, can make a real difference in the life of a fellow Islander!
To inspire you to support this cause, Mrs. Parkey will bake brownies for every class in the building who gets as many
registrations as there are students in their classroom! Remember, virtual registrations are encouraged; you are allowed
to register and support the school even if you cannot make it on the day of the Run4Hunt. So get out there and recruit!
Be our Valentine!
