REQUIREMENTS FOR PURCHASING PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF GREENVILLE 1. The bidder must build a house on the property or add it to their existing homestead property. (Resale property must connect to the homestead property) 2. The bidder must pay 100% of the current year Hunt County Appraised Value.** 3. The bidder is required to pay any and all outstanding City Liens on the property. This is separate and in addition to the bid amount. Contact the City of Greenville for lien payoff amounts -Rosa Rivera 903-457-3160 [email protected] 4. The buyer must obtain a building permit within 6 months of paying for the property. Once they obtain a building permit, they have 6 months from the date acquired to build a house. The buyer/bidder is also required to pay 25% of the bid amount up front. This will be applied to the bid amount if approved. However, if the buyer/bidder defaults on the bid, the 25% is not refunded and the buyer/bidder is not allowed to bid on any other Resale or Tax Sale properties.
