50th Anniversary Events 2017

Our third 50th Anniversary Dinner is in PaynesvilleProgram: Friday 25 august 2017Arrive at Accommodation. Sightsee locally Paynesville, Raymond Island & Bairnsdale.Cruise of the Paynesville Canals. Zonda Lynn & Les Mathie-son will have their 1950 Halvorsen Cruiser moored at one of the jetties at Captain’s Cove, and invite you to take a short cruise of canals. The Halvo comfortably takes 6-8 people. Trips will be rotated throughout the afternoon as members arrive. It could be weather dependent. A complimentary beer or Prosecco will be provided courtesy of your hosts.Evening: Informal evening meals at individual’s choice, see list of venues below. Or self cater, BBQ, bring back take away etc. Or you could join Zonda & Les at Pier 70. Half the restaurant has been reserved. Should demand be high Les will make further bookings. Great drive, 200 kms return drive through rolling hills and forest to small remote historic town of Dargo. Paul McPherson assures that this is a great Healey drive. Departs from Captain’s Cove at 10:30am sharp. There is no petrol at Dargo so fuel up, 98 available at servo in Paynesville. Cafes & the Bullant Brewery. 50th Anniversary Dinner at the Boathouse Restaurant, PaynesvilleCanapes will be served on arrival in the Spinnaker Lounge. Drinks are at members cost. At 7.00pm we will be seated for dinner – 3 course meal (alt. drop) plus tea and coffee.Dinner provided by the club. Members to purchase drinks.A deposit of $50 per head paid prior and refunded on the night. (See booking form)sunday 28th august 2017Breakfast is member’s choice. As per Saturday’s arrangements. From 10.00am there will be a car display in the Paynesville town centre. Details will be given out on the weekend and it will conclude about 1.00pm.accommodation: There are a number of alternatives detailed below. All accommodation is to be booked directly by members. Mention that you are with the Austin Healey Club at the time of booking to receive the special rate. The Saturday night function is nearby the Captains Cove Complex and is the preferred option for accommodation but will involve couples sharing. Please contact Enid Nankervis if you require assistance with sharing with others.Captains Cove Apartments Each waterfront holiday apartment at Captains Cove has uninterrupted water views of the beautiful Paynesville Canals which will have you relaxed and calmed the moment you walk onto your private deck.
