Humpty Doo Primary School - Newsletter
Learning for Life
Inclusion - Honesty - Personal Best - Respect - Responsibility
Week 10, Term 3 - 29 September 2017
Dear Parents and Carers
This term as our students participated in our school performance, fun run and our
open evening there has been one common theme of community. During our most
recent School Council meeting we spent time defining what it is that makes Humpty
Doo Primary special and the recurring theme was our sense of kindness,
connectedness and community from our students, families, parents, teachers and
visitors. We continually receive comments about the inclusive and friendly nature of
our staff and families. Our School Council created a sentence about our school,
which will be further developed at our Pupil Free Day with staff on Friday 13
October. School Council’s thoughts were summarised as: Humpty Doo Primary is a
respectful, supportive learning community that allows our children to develop and
grow to their full potential.
A huge thank you to all involved in creating such a celebratory atmosphere at our
open evening. There were celebrations of achievements, student goals and the
great opportunities at our school. Many parents commented that they got to see
parts of the school they did not know existed! Well done to all students who were
such accomplished hosts to parents and families.
We are very proud of our staff and teachers and so were especially pleased when a
member of our community nominated Ms Gemma Harvey with the ‘A Day Made
Better’ award. Congratulations Ms Harvey!
Thank you to all parents who have provided a school bucket hat for students to wear and remain sun smart during recess and lunchtimes. As the weather warms up please also remember to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated at school.
I wish everyone a very safe, happy and well deserved break. School resumes on Monday 9 October and I look forward to seeing you all then.
Kind regards, Ali Brady, Acting Principal.
