    What is Handling Unit? A handling unit is a physical unit consisting of packagingmaterials (load carriers/packing material) and the goodscontained on/in it. Common examples are oxes! pallets!containers among others. "ach Handling Unit has a uni#ue identi$cation num er atclient le%el. At the material item le%el! Handling Units contain completematerial identi$cation! #uantity and other item&related

    information like atches! serial num ers. Handling Units facilitate picking! goods receipt! goods issues

    and stock transports. All packing functions! such as packing! repacking and

    unpacking ! are completely supported y the handling unit
