the Humber to be the first recognised

Region of Learning in the country:

• Enhancing current activity

• Adding value re additional partnerships

ASK services will support

schools to achieve:

• Links to the Careers Strategy • Evidence towards Gatsby Benchmark 7 • Meeting schools statutory obligations under Baker Claus to allow training

providers access to pupils to promote apprenticeships • DfE Guidance – From September 2018 all school establishments must

publish information about the schools careers programme to pupils year 8-13. Also have a designated career lead

• Ofsted new School Inspection Handbook (Sept 18) has more reference to impartial careers guidance with clear grading markers

The highest number of non-UK nationals are employed in

elementary occupations such as selling goods, cleaning or

freight handling.


• In 2016, 11% (3.4 million +/- 0.2 million) of the UK labour market

(30.3 million +/- 0.3 million) were non-UK nationals

• Non-UK nationals are more likely to be in jobs they are over-

qualified for than UK nationals : almost 2 in 5 non-UK nationals

(37% of EU14, EU2 and non-EU nationals and 40% of EU8

national

mind that many immigrants possess the requisite skills, education

and experience for these jobs.

2. Are all of the schools within the Humber LEP area taking

advantage of the Careers and Enterprise Information and

Guidance offer that is available? Are our schools trying to meet

the needs of the Baker Clause and trying to meet the standards

set by Gatsby?
