PowerPoint Folder Project• Objective: Demonstrate through a Folder Project our

understanding of Human Rights and the Laws created to defend them.

• Instructions: Answer the following questions about 4 human rights.– Identify the Human Right through the Declaration of

Human Rights– Explain in plain language it’s meaning (your words)– Everyday law in the United States or Bill of Rights which

protects that right here in the United States.– Example of how Americans exercise that right or are

protected by

Example• Universal Human Right: No one shall be subjected to

arbitrary arrest, detention or exile.• A person cannot be arrested, or held without good

reason. They must have committed a crime or is preparing to do so. You cannot get kicked out of the country unless for good reason.

• The United States has the 4th, 5th, 6th Amendments which spells out peoples right to a jury trial, warrant for searches, speedy trial etc.

• A peace officer, the government, or any agent of the government cannot arrest people without probable cause, reasonable suspicion, or evidence.
