Areas of interest include cyber physical systems, human-assisted computer management of real-time complex systems, and human factors. This tenure- track assistant or associate professor faculty position leverages existing and expanding facilities and a multidisciplinary undergraduate and graduate program (aim.mtu.edu). Numerous facilities exist on campus with immediate collaboration opportunities for education and research including a driving simulator, a mobile microgrid with renewable energy sources and plug-in HEV’s (mtu.edu/mobile-lab), and several energy management systems ranging in size from bench top microgrids to building-scale. Successful applicants are required to have an earned PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and are expected to create and sustain an active research program, advise graduate students, and develop and teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. For full consideration, applications should be received by November 15, 2013; however, applications will be considered until the position is filled.
