- carry oxygenated blood away from the heart, except pulmonary arteries*.
* Pulmonary arteries carry deoxygenated blood away from the heart going to the lungs.
- branched into arterioles connecting small arteries to capillaries.
MAIN PATHWAYS OF BLOOD
Capillaries
- connects arterioles and venules.
- about 0.5 to 1 mm long.
- could be found in the metabolic organs.
MAIN PATHWAYS OF BLOODVeins
- carry deoxygenated blood towards the heart, except pulmonary
veins*.
*Pulmonary veins carry oxygenated blood towards the heart.
- branched into venules, connecting small veins to capillaries.
