Middle Hulton
9 December 1908Honourable Sir,
I beg to present for your acceptance the two books
enclosed herewith. As you will perceive, they have been written
at twice, the greater portion of Volume 1 in 1902 and the
remainder in 1906. The latter portion consists entirely of
historical notices on the different members of your own family,
which was never intended to be printed or published.
I trust therefore, you will be pleased to accept the
charge of them. I am well aware the compilation is often rude
and defective but this defect arises from want of ability to do
better and not from want of sympathy.
I am, Sir,
Your obedient servant,
John Heaton Partington
