BOARD NEWS We are delighted to announce that Tracey Hopkins has agreed to be our Acting Principal for Term 1, whilst we recruit for our new Principal. Tracey is cur-rently Deputy Principal, and acted as Principal dur-ing Mr Mossop’s sabbatical last year. Your feedback regarding the future leadership of our school is very important. We will be contacting you next week, via email, with a short survey to ask for your opinions and thoughts. These will be collated, together with staff and student feedback, and used in conjunction with this year’s annual survey results to guide us in our recruitment decisions. On that note, we will shortly be appointing a consul-tant to assist us with the recruitment process. We should be in a position to advise further details of this process next week. The Magic TreeThis tree was different to the other trees. It contained magic. It con-tained hope. When my hand slowly touched the cracked tree a gigantic wind began to blow. The sticks on the dusty ground swirled around me. When the wind stopped, I saw an astonishing sight. The once crackled and dusty tree was pure green. Under the moonlight it was sparkling like a hundred emeralds shining all at once. When I saw it I felt strangely happy. As I was looking at the tree I smelt a strong smell of dirt and smoke. I thought the tree and I had something in common, we were both lost in this crazy place.By Yin Qi Tao

This tree was different  to the other trees. It contained magic. It con-tained hope. For everyone and everything living in this world. Every step I took closer pressure gained on my body, rapidly. Soon I felt the weight of an elephant on my back. Now the light was getting bright for me. I had to take a step back. I could hear the glorious chirping of the humming-birds. It was starting to get dark, by now it looked like a lantern. I was too scared. I ran home.By Xavier
