MHbAY Qurān Academy

Rules and Regulations

We believe the Qurān is guidance and light for all humanity. At MHbAY we treat discipline and

class rules seriously to ensure the best form of Islamic education is delivered. The following are rules and regulations to help aid best practices within our Qurān Academy.

1. The Qurān Academy will operate on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 5.00pm to 7:00pm.

2. Doors will open 10 minutes before class and close 10 minutes after class.

3. The Qurān Academy is unable to supervise children who arrive 10 minutes before the start times of the classes and those who remain more than 10 minutes after the class has ended,

therefore parents are requested to make sure their children arrive on time and that they are collected on time.

4. Any child arriving more than 5 minutes late without a valid excuse and/or letter from a parent will be given a detention, and if repeated further action will be taken.

5. No child will be allowed to leave the Qurān Academy early unless parent’s permission is granted, which should be explained in the form of a letter to the head teacher.

6. The Qurān Academy has a detention policy, and applies to all children. If a child is given

detention, then the Qurān Academy will notify the parent/guardian in advance.

7. To follow up on child's homework and ensure revision is maintained weekly. If a child does not complete their homework or does not adhere to the disciplinary rules, then this may result in detention for the child. On such occasions parents must be co-operative.

8. Occasionally the Qurān Academy will communicate with parents pertaining to their child

and the Qurān Academy. This communication could be via a form of a letter or WhatsApp broadcast list setup by the class administrators. Some of these will require the parents to sign and return to the Qurān Academy as acknowledgement of the receipt.

9. The Qurān Academy has parents evening to discuss the progress of the child. Parent must

be available for parent’s evenings.

10. Parents are not allowed into the Qurān Academy during class times. Should parents need

to contact their child or have academy matter must email [email protected] or in person at MHbAY office during opening hours.

11. Girls must wear full black Hijab in accordance to the Islamic dress code. Boys must wear

white thobe and white skull cap. Ensure children are wearing clean uniform and attend with wudoo ready for lesson. The child must observe ablution during class time.

12. If the parent decides to withdraw a child from Qurān Academy at any point, no refund of

tuition fees will be made. 13. Non-payment of Qurān Academy fees after the first week will result in your child being

excluded from the Qurān Academy.

14. In case of emergency during class hours, the head teacher will immediately contact the parent/guardian specified on the application form.

15. Children must not bring to Qurān Academy any toys or harmful objects. Should a child bring a toy or harmful object to the Qurān Academy, the teacher will confiscate the item and

may result in disciplinary action. 16. During Qurān Academy hours the child will be allowed to visit the lavatory at permission

of the teacher.

17. Parents must ensure the children are encouraged and advised on the importance of learning the Qurān.

18. The child must bring with them their Qurān Academy resources to every class. Ensure the Qurān Academy bag is used and books are present.

19. Bullying, fighting between students will be treated seriously and escalated to the head

teacher and may involve parental presence. 20. Any child found using abusive language that is contrary to the Islamic practices, morals

will be treated with a written warning, or leading to disciplinary, parental involvement.

MHbAY Qurān Academy reserves the right to modify these rules and regulations at any time.

MHbAY Qurān Academy

Q.A.F

Our vision is to pioneer and excel in Quranic studies to produce hufaaz for the Muslim community.

1. Which books will be taught?

All students will begin reading the Qaa'idah al Baghdaadiyya (Uthmaani Script), learning the

correct makhaarij (the place of emission of the letters) and basic tajweed rules. Following this the student will read juz Amma (last chapter of the Quran). Thereafter the student will

progress to reading the mushaf (Quran) and embark upon memorization. 2.

How will the class be divided?

Currently the class will be divided into the following age ranges Group 1: 5 to 10 years old Group 2: 11 to 16 years old

What will be the structure of class and does it cater for different learning abilities? This class will cater for complete beginners as well as those who are able to read the Quran

but are weak in their recitation and/or memorisation.

The following steps will be taken to strengthen/perfect the student’s reading:

Complete the reading of the qaa'idah and introduce basic tajweed rules

Recite juz Amma and start memorising the last 10 surahs. Recite the last 3 juz from the Quran proficiently and complete memorising juz Amma.

Memorise the last 3 juz from the Quran. Recite and memorise from Surah al Baqarah and continue to the end of the Quran.

A guide of how long it may take to complete the steps mentioned above:

Completion of qaa'idah: 6 months + Recitation of juz Amma: 9 months +

Recitation of the last 3 juz proficiently: 1 year + Tajweed rules: 6 months +

Memorisation: according to the pace and ability of the student 4.

How will the class be delivered?

Majority of class time will focus on the practical (reading/memorisation).The class will read as a group at times and individually. A small portion of class time will focus on explaining the theory (Tajweed rules) as a group.

What resources must the student bring to the class?

1. Qaa'idah al Baghdaadiyya – Provided by MHbAY Quran Academy

4. Student Bag – Provided by MHbAY Quran Academy 5. Pen, pencil, etc 6. Notepad

Will any other subjects be taught (i.e. Arabic, Islamic Studies)? The Quran Academy will teach the students basic Islamic studies in creed, acts of worship,

etiquettes and mannerisms. These include:

a) The meaning of the two testimony of faith, including its conditions and nullifiers b) The six pillars of eeman.

c) How to pray (its conditions, nullifiers, pillars, obligations and its recommended aspects)

d) How to make wudoo (its obligations, nullifiers and recommended aspects)

e) How to use the lavatory, eat, dress, talk and behave according to the Islamic teachings.

Weekday Qurān Academy

Payment

A one off administration fee of £20.00 is made payable for each successful application and is non-refundable.

All fees must be paid on time.

Fees must be paid in advance for every term.

Each 2-hour class costs £2.50 = £10.00 each week

Term dates can be found in the registration pack. Please confirm with a member of the administration team the total amount due this term.

Total amount including administration fee can be paid after you receive confirmation of

enrolment to class.

In special circumstances arrangements can be made for monthly payments.
