End-to-End Service Provisioning: LCASMultiple paths through optical core are virtually concatenated together (VCAT) to form a trunk with adequate bandwidth for the required data serviceWhen failure occur on any paths, LCAS automatically adjusts the trunk to smaller bandwidth. When the failures are removed, LCAS automatically adjusts the trunk bandwidth back to its original sizeWhen more bandwidth is needed, new paths can be added to VCAT group by LCAS without affecting traffic (In-Service Bandwidth Adjustment)

Case Study: ASON-based OSN9500 Deployed by TelemarChallenges Faced By the Carrier

• Facing failures due to multi-point fiber cuts, where SDH protections do not work well.

• G.653 fiber is not good for large capacity DWDM deployment

Benefits Brought By OSN9500• Against multi-point failure• Provide SLA services for

important enterprise clients, such as Airlines, Visa Card, Banks etc.

• Reduce the OpEx by simplifying the OAM with intelligent software.

• The ASON based OSN9500 covers the 7 most important and rich cities in Brazil to improve the reliability and grooming (MESH network).
