1 Overview

1.1 Intended Audience

eSight V300R001C10 is a comprehensive ICT management system developed by Huawei for

enterprises. This document describes Ordering information about eSight V300R001C10.

Users are advised to obtain information about product functions before reading this document.

This document contains quotation item information about eSight function modules and eSight

software and hardware configuration information.

1.2 Ordering Description

eSight products can be sold in global markets by means of distribution or non-distribution.

Products are sold in a set of unified prices in China and another set of unified prices outside

China.

All eSight components can be quoted using the Huawei UniSTAR quotation tool.

2 Ordering Guide

2.1 Product Overview

The eSight system is a new-generation comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M) and

management solution that Huawei develops to manage basic network, unified

communications, telepresence, video surveillance, and data center components. Users can

monitor and configure a variety of devices provided by difference vendors in a unified manner.

The network and service quality monitoring and analysis functions enable the unified

management and intelligent linkage for enterprise resources, services, and users. The eSight

solution also provides a flexible and open platform that supports the development of custom

intelligent management systems.

Basic software and hardware: Including hardware servers, operating systems, and databases.

Most of them are purchased components. Do not sell them proactively and allow customers to

select by themselves.

eSight Platform: Charge fees for only software and quote prices for the standard and

professional editions independently.

Device management component: Including network, storage, server, UC/CC, video

surveillance, and telepresence management components. For storage and server components,

charge fees for licenses. And for the rest components, charge fees for licenses and software.

Service management components: Charge fees for licenses and software.

2.2 Product Versions

To serve enterprise customers with different needs, eSight V300R001C00 is classified into

Compact, Standard, and Professional editions.

Compact (Network Device): an edition for distribution sales. eSight of this edition

provides only simple management functions for network devices. It neither provides

additional components nor supports service expansion. It is applicable to only small

networks.

Compact (Server): an edition for distribution sales. eSight of this edition provides only

simple management functions for servers, including device management, configuration

deployment, and stateless computing. It neither provides additional components nor

support service expansion. It is applicable to only small networks.

Standard: mainstream edition. eSight of this edition manages a wide array of network

devices and supports various service components that can be selected based on the site

requirements. It is applicable to most networks.

Professional: enhanced edition. In addition to providing all functions of the Standard

Edition, eSight of this edition provides enhanced management capabilities and supports

hierarchical network management. It is applicable to networks that involve a large

number of devices.

2.5.1 Management Platform

The eSight V300R001C00 is a Huawei-developed next generation solution that manages the

O&M of enterprise basic network, unified communication, telepresence, video surveillance,

and data center components. Users can install a variety of device management units to

manage NEs. The eSight Platform has three editions, as listed in Table 2-2.

2.7 eSight Software and Hardware Configuration

2.7.1 Configuration for the Standard Edition

Server configuration depends on the eSight management capability. Table 2-8 and Table 2-9

describe the dependencies.

General quotation principles:

1. The PC Server is recommended when users purchase servers by themselves.

2. Configure a display, keyboard, and mouse (06410202+ 06410145) for each serve.

3. The ratio of the OS to the server is 1:1. If no server is configured, one pcs is configured for OS by

default.

4. If MySQL, SQLServer or Gauss is used, configure one database for one server. For the mapping

between Oracle and server, see Table 2-12. If no server is configured, one pcs is configured for the

MySQL, SQL Server and Gauss databases by default and the number of Oracle databases is

configurable.
