Classroom Management/Behavior
• Positive Reinforcement• Acceptance• Encouragement• Logical Consequences• What I expect from the children
Why do I do the above?I feel that this helps guide child in the development of self-
discipline, which is essential to their success in school and in life.
Classroom Management/Behavior cont…
• I believe that what I say and how I say it has a powerful effect on the children I teach. My words can build up a child’s self-esteem or tear it down.
• If there is a problem, I will1. Reinforce appropriate behavior2. Remind when they get off track3. Redirect when clearly off track4. Leave their dignity intact
Classroom Management/Behavior cont…
• Green Dragon~ your child is showing me that he/she is ready to learn and following all of the rules
• Yellow Dragon~ Slow Down and focus on what you are supposed to be doing “Think about your behavior”
• Red Dragon~ STOP and think about your actions. • Please take a minute each day to look at the “dragon” paper.
Praise your child for staying on green and tell them how it makes you feel. They LOVE hearing that you are proud of them!
