Host Actions
• ITNs, IAPPs and IRSES are Host Actions • This means:
• Host institutions/network applies for a number of fellows/researchers
• Host’s proposal is evaluated• For IAPP and ITNs: selected host/network advertises
fellowship position and selects fellows/researchers• Contract duration with host, usually 4 years

• It is a two-way partnership with at least one commercial enterprise and non-commercial organisation in two different Member States or Associated Countries
• An IAPP aims to increase industry-academia co-operation by: • Supporting the creation, development, reinforcement
and execution of strategic partnerships• Creating diverse career possibilities and experience for
researchers• Knowledge sharing/cultural exchange, especially SMEs• Aiming for longer term co-operation between both
sectors
What is industry?
• “In the implementation of this programme, the definition of "industry" is to be seen in a wider scope than just the traditional manufacturing and/or production industries and is to comprise enterprises in the general sense of commercial economic actors.”

Life Sciences: FIGHTMAL - Correlating protection against malaria with serum profiles against Plasmodium falciparum antigen repertoiresPeople living in endemic malaria areas develop, with time, a form of immunity infection and clinical disease. Currently there are no assays or clinical parameters that predict whether an exposed person is protected against malaria. This represents a major obstacle for vaccine development. Here research institutions and industrial partners, combining cutting edge expertise join their efforts with the aim unravel correlates of protection against human malaria.
