Overview The Diploma of Project Management through IPAA is the fastest way to earn this qualification. This is an intensive course spread over five non-consecutive days. The Diploma is IPAA’s original accredited program and one of its most popular. The course will focus on your own projects which will form the basis for the delivery of the training and all methodology is related back to them throughout the course. By successfully completing the course and assessment you will gain the nationally recognised Diploma of Project Management qualification (BSB51407). Content The program comprises five days of coursework and some assessment to be completed outside of course time: Day 1 Introduction of coursework/assessment Framework Context & Processes Integration Process Day 2 Project Scope Project Time Day 3 Project Cost Project Quality Day 4 Human Resources Project communications Risk Day 5 Procurement management Group presentations Review This course provides participants with a comprehensive workbook, PowerPoint slides, handouts and project management tools and templates that can be used back in the workplace. An optional textbook is also available to purchase for further reading.

Outcomes By the end of this course you will have the ability to: • Consult with stakeholders and others on developing a

range of project management related plans • Negotiate contracts and solutions to new and emerging

issues • Utilise excellent interpersonal skills and producing a

wide range of reports and charts to document project progress, milestones and outcomes

• Delegate roles and responsibilities to teams for the implementation of project plans

Pre-requisites Vocational experience in project management or Project Management Fundamentals (an IPAA short course) or Certificate IV in Project Management (BSB41507) Who Should Attend? Frequently Asked Questions Is attendance mandatory for all 5 days? The assessment for the course is integrated across the program so it is important that you are available for the full program to ensure your ability to qualify for the qualification. Can I pay by instalments? Unfortunately, IPAA is unable to accept payment by instalments however, employers of participants are often very willing to sponsor the registration fee. Is my organisation a Corporate Member? All State Government departments and some Local Governments hold Corporate Memberships with IPAA. A current list of all Corporate Member Organisations is available under the Membership section of our website.

What is sufficient vocational experience in project management? If you have not completed a Project Management short course through IPAA or hold a Certificate IV in Project Management (BSB41507), your experience will be assessed on an individual basis considering your work history and experience. Job roles that are likely to meet the required level of experience include Project Coordinator, Project Management Officer, Project Team Leader or Program Administrator. If in doubt, please contact our Learning and Development Manager. Do I need to purchase the additional textbook? No. The textbook is an optional extra. You will be able to complete all assessment tasks using the material provided and external research sources. The textbook is suggested as a good reference tool throughout and after the course. How much time will I need to commit outside of the session times? This depends on your learning style and how much time you want to commit to each piece of assessment. We generally recommend allowing at least 3 hours between each session for assignments as a guide. What is included in the registration price? The registration price includes comprehensive printed materials, catering (morning/afternoon tea + lunch), standard assessment and production of your official parchment once you qualify for the Diploma. If you have any specific dietary requirements, let us know when you register and we will make sure a suitable option is available. Terms and conditions. IPAA will not refund or cancel applications for individuals who register without seeking prior approval. Once your application has been accepted you may substitute participants for the entire program at any time prior to the program commencing at no charge. If you are unable to find a substitute and withdraw from the program more than 10 business days before it commences an administration fee of 20% is payable. If you withdraw from the program less than 10 business days before the program commences or during the program, the full price is still payable.
