Fortnightly
Kerbside
Recycling
Service
In September 2009 Council’s
within the Cradle Coast region
will introduce the new fortnightly
kerbside recycling service.
Phone 6427 4646
for more information
It is important to understand what items can be recycled. The diagram on the right indicates the recycle groups, but if you have reservations your queries can be answered more fully by calling 6427 4646, 9.00am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
Commercial recycling may be available. Phone 6427 4646 for further information or visit www.cradlecoast.com
How to RecycleTo prepare items for recycling, please rinse
out, remove all lids and place in bins (yellow lid). Do not bundle paper or cardboard items and do not flatten cans.
Items that must not be recycled in the yellow lidded bins are batteries, light globes, chemicals or oils, food stuffs, nappies, plastic bags, polystyrene foam, crockery, household rubbish, glass or mirrors.
It is important only correct recycling materials be placed in these bins. Trucks have close circuit cameras to monitor bin loads as they are emptied.
Note: Penalties may apply for incorrect use.
Collection DaysRecycle bins are collected every fortnight.
Please refer to the fridge magnet calendar enclosed with this brochure for your collection dates.
What to do with your old cratesPlease keep your old recycling crate if it is useful,
otherwise take it to your nearest Waste Transfer Station.
Recycling collection
Please follow these simple tips to ensure your bins can be collected:
Correct Positioning
Face the wheels away from the kerb. Bins must be at least 1 metre apart. Place items loosely in bins - jammed items will not easily empty out. Please return the bins to your premises as soon as possible after emptying to reduce the risk of damage and theft.
Incorrect Positioning
TimingAll bins are to be placed for collection prior to 6am
on your day of collection. Please see your fridge magnet calendar (supplied with this brochure) for details.
Do not place bins near trees, power poles or other obstacles. Do not place bins behind cars.
