Better to Work Clearboard can stand up to being worked without splitting. It can be easily cut, drilled, sanded and more. The combination of soft wood and straight grain gives it strength and stability like few other timbers.

Better to Finish Clearboard comes to you pre-machined, meaning that it can be finished with a minimum of fuss with clear oils and clear coatings such as lacquer. It also paints and stains easily in a variety of colours. Its clear, even and consistent grain provides the perfect surface for any finish.

Wood Made Better

Better to Use Clearboard is a natural, durable and resilient material for interior applications. It is also completely formaldehyde free; allowing your project to be used for generations.

Make DIY beautiful with the Clearboard range of panel and board products. Clearboard is a

Tree Farming plantations produce better products

Our tree farming process ensures that Clearwood is flawless, easy to work with, and affordable. Read the tree rings to see how we make our wood better.

Breed Radiata Pine seedlings were imported from Monterey, California back in the early 1930’s and have established well in the New Zealand climate.

Plant Radiata Pine grows well with warm days and cool nights. Seedlings are planted in certified sustainable plantation forests in New Zealand.

Made of New ZealandOur products are made of New Zealand. Our leadership in sustainable plantation forestry and our ideal climate for forest growth provide you with the best product.

Clearboard is uniquely a product of the New Zealand environment, its people and its innovative attitude to forestry. Clearboard is manufactured by Pacific Wood Products (PWP). We are based in the renowned wine growing region of Hawkes Bay, New Zealand. This area ranges from the inward alpine mountain ranges through wide plains to the rugged coastline.

Clearboard timber is sourced from our ‘Forest Stewardship Council’ (FSC) certified forests and is harvested and tracked through our production facilities. We always consider ‘whole of forest solutions’ in order to use every part of our forest resource. For example, lower value logs and waste sawmill chip are turned into pulp for paper products, while high value pruned logs are sent to our sawmill for conversion to Clearboards.

Areas of our forests are available for public access with the Eskdale Forest having one of the largest mountain biking facilities in New Zealand.
