I have a degree in fine art. I teach art classes in drawing, in pencil, charcoal and pastel on paper, and painting in oils and acrylic on canvas or boards.

I also do workshops for groups by demand. I accept commissions for paintings, be it landscapes, still lifes, portraits, and portraits from wedding photographs etc, with a special love for nudes.

For me, colour, form, texture, mark making and atmosphere, together with conviction, are the secret spice to any painting. I enjoy working in oil because of its richness in colour and texture, its timelessness, as well as the fact that it is a very forgiving medium.

Though I enjoy painting almost any subject, my favourite is the female figure. Maybe it’s simply because of its beauty. Maybe it’s because of the subjacent emotion that’s always present in the female form.
