G-3 – National Security Policy Update
• Supporting development of Army Bio Surety Program is being established ICW DoD and Federal guidance. – Four interim guidance messages have been
implemented– Draft AR is in final coordination.
• Revising AR 50-6, Chemical Surety to provide clearer guidance and address organizational changes.
• Supporting the DoD revision of NBC Survivability Program

G-3 – Installation Preparedness Branch
• Conducted the prioritization of the 62 Army Installations on the DoD Installation Protection List (200 total installations).
• Supporting the Joint Staff in development of Installation Protection Standards.
• Supporting the plan to outfit and train the first 16 installations on the prioritization list with enhanced emergency responder capabilities in FY 04.

• New DoD Planning construct 1-4-2-1– Homeland Security is #1 priority– Army must provide full spectrum of capability
• Current Chemical Corps design was reviewed and shortfalls were identified
• Force Design Update (FDU) recommended reorganizing current Chemical Units– More modular organization– Full spectrum capabilities (disaster relief to major combat
operations)
• Total Army Analysis 11 evaluated the requirements for Chemical force structure using the FDU organizations
