1. INSTALLATION Start the downloaded file Lab2.exe (Download link http://www.photoandbook.com/lab2.exe)

Click “Next”

When accepting the terms of license agreement, click “Next”.

Click “Finish” to complete the software installation. HPT will start automatically.

2. PREFERENCES 2.1 ACCOUNT Enter your login and password which was provided by Noritsu and click “Save”. Close the application and restart again to make changes happen.

Step 3: Check the server connections indicated by lower LED’s (all LED’s should light green). If one of them is red, but your internet connection works properly, please contact Noritsu Customer Care.

LANGUAGE Select the desired language. (Tools\Languages)

To enter the preferences again you’ll be asked for a password. Please type “2260” when requested. (Tools\Preferences)

ADDRESS Set the shop information, and technical point in tab “Account”. At least the store name, address, zip code and city is necessary to prevent error messages when creating kiosk accounts later.

PRODUCTION Below you can see some default value for the tab “Production”. All related paths don’t need to be changed as they fit to the automatically created folders during installation. Start the order retrieval service when the application starts If you want to start the order download from HPT server automatically when starting HPT, please check the box. We recommend to switch it on, that the download starts automatically after startup. Automatic printing of order forms If you want to print the order forms using the connected Windows® printer, please check the box. Printing of invoice (Jpeg) for print orders (max size 15x21) If you want to print the invoice as last image of each order, please check the box. Express printing (1 hour)? If you want to use the express service for your HPT kiosk, please check the box. Auto correction with Ez controller If you want to use the PJP mode of EZ controller before creating the combined photobook pages (images + background), please check the box.

EXPENSES Carriage expense (Euros) When offering the shipping of finished orders to your customers by ordinary mail you can set some additional fee for the payment method “Euros”. Carriage expense (packs) When offering the shipping of finished orders to your customers by ordinary mail you can set some additional fee for the payment method “packs”. This is a kind of prepaid system, where the customer gets an account within your HPT software and the payment by pre-loaded points is used. Order sending by postage If you want to offer the order shipment by mail, please check this box. Handling expenses amount When offering the payment by credit card, you can set some additional fee for this service. From what amount handling expenses is took off When offering the payment by credit card, you can set the maximum order value where an additional fee is charged. If the total order comes above this value, no additional fee is charged. Apply handling expenses to all commands in Euros If you want to charge the Handling expenses amount with every order using the payment “Euros”, please check this box. Price of Index If you want to offer the service for printing “Index” prints, please set some additional fee. Price of CD If you want to offer the service for burning CD’s, please set some additional fee.

3. CREATING PRODUCTS 3.1 PRINTS Before starting to create your products please consider if you want to use the group function to simplify the product selection for the customers. If not, you can skip the following chapter about product groups. 3.1.1 CATALOGUE OF PRODUCT GROUPS (Tools\Catalogue of product groups) If desired, you can use different groups to classify your products that the user will have some general selections as criteria to minimize the product selection. Max. six groups are selectable in version 6.6.1.

Click the arrow buttons to move the selected groups into the other window or to change its position.

3.1.2 CATALOGUE OF CHANNELS (Tools\Catalogue of channels) In this mode you can create your desired channels which correspond to the print channel in your EZ controller. To create a new channel, please click “New”. If you want to create a copy of an existing channel to use similar settings, select the channel to be copied and click “Duplicate”.

If pressing “New” button, you can set the channel data as follows

The number in field “Channel” should correspond to the same channel number in your EZ controller. The width can be selected by pull-down menu, the length has to be set in “mm”. The value for “Resize factor and Compression factor” should be set as displayed above.

3.1.4 CATALOGUE OF PRINTS - PRINT (Tools\Catalogue of prints) In this mode you can create your desired products which you like to offer to your customers. To create a new product, please click “New”. If you want to create a copy of an existing product, to use similar settings etc., click “Duplicate”.

Press “New” to create a new product.

Select “Print” to create an oridinary print product, otherwise select “Template” (described later). Click “Next”.

Set the values for width and length in cm (without decimal point, no “,” or “.”) Hide the red frame on the photo To hide the finished format on the customers display, please check this box. Print with borders If you want to create a product with border, please check this box.

Select the group of format and paper type (if selected in previous setting, otherwise it’s deactivated) and an icon from lower selection to indicate the finished format. This icon is displayed to the customer when selecting the desired products. It does not reflect the finished size, even the name “BL_Stand10x15” is not displayed to the customers.

Click “Next”. Select an existing channel if already set before, otherwise create a new one.

Up to three different payment methods can be selected per product. Pack payment Set the value of points for this product when using the prepaid system. Payment at Shop You can set a price in Euro for payment at shop depending on the number of prints. Credit card payment You can set a price in Euro for credit card payment depending on the number of prints. Click the folder icon (red mark above) to set the pricing.

Click “Validate” to save the setting.

If you want to set a discount depending on the number of prints, please select folder icon in second row to set the price for next price group.

Click “Validate” to save the settings and back on the screen “Pricing by print”, click “Next”. The page “Print prefix” gives you the opportunity to set a title for this product and to describe it for the customers. The printing format which was set in step 2 will be automatically added in front of the prefix. (e.g. 10x15) With below setting it would be displayed for the customers as “10x15 10x15 Standard print”. In such cases you don’t need to set the prefix with print format or check the box to “Hide the print size in the print description”. Click “Next”.

The last step shows you a summary of all settings. If you want to change something, you can go back to the previous step by pressing the button “Previous”.

Click “Terminate” to save and finish the product setting.

3.2 TEMPLATES (DESIGN PRINTS) Before starting to create your template products please consider if you want to use the group function to simplify the product selection for the customers. 3.2.2 CATALOGUE OF PRINTS - TEMPLATES (Tools\Catalogue of prints) In this mode you can create your desired template products which you like to offer to your customers. To create a new template product, please click “New”. If you want to create a copy of an existing template product, select it and click “Duplicate”.

If you want to create a double sided template product, please check the box “On both sides”. NOTE: Please care and check which format is supported with your Noritsu printer. Select the desired print size from “Template size” pull-down menu. The width and length field will be filled automatically.

Click “Next”. STEP 5-7 The following three steps “Pricing by print”, “Print prefix” and “Summary” are the same as for ordinary prints. Please refer to the corresponding chapter on previous pages.

3.3 PHOTO BOOKS Before starting to create your photo book products, please select the photo book cover from the offered range. This will be updated from time to time, so please check if new designs are available. 3.3.1 CATALOGUE OF PROVIDER COVER (Tools\Catalogue of provider cover) Click “New” to load new templates from HPT server or select one out of the list if some were downloaded before.

The selection “Printed by D502” has the biggest range of softcover which can be printed as photo book cover or modified with your own images. Within other selections you can find softcover as well but also hardcover which can’t be printed (already prepared or bought from 3rd party).

Select the binding system as desired. In case of softcover the selection “Punch” is not available.

Click “Next” In case of hardcover template you can also select “With photo on the first page”. The softcover templates don’t support this function as they will be printed and no window (frame) is available.

If using a softcover template you just have the selection “Variable”. Hardcover do support specific thickness (in mm) depending the selected template.

Click “Next” Select the desired size and background to be used for your photo books. Multiple selection is possible, so select as much templates and sizes you want to use later for photo book product creation.

Click “Finish” to save your selection and back on “Photo range catralogue” screen, click “Finish” again.

3.3.2 CATALOGUE OF PHOTO BOOKS (Tools\Catalogue of photo books) In this mode you can create your desired photo book products which you like to offer to your customers. To create a new photo book product, please click “New”. If you want to create a copy of an existing template product, select it and click “Duplicate”.

Select the corresponding print channel for photo book inner pages and photo book cover. If not already set, please do it referring to chapter “3.2 Catalogue of channels”.

Check the box “On both sides” to print the photo book inner pages on both sides. Minimum The minimum number of pages defines how many pages the customer has to use in any case. On each page at least one image has to be placed, max. 7 images per page. The arrangement of images will be done automatically by HPT software depending the number of selected images. The customer has the possibility to select some criteria how to allocate the images (one per page, two per page, by date, by file name tec.) If the number of selected images is larger than the max. number of images corresponding the min. number of pages, another page will be added additionally. Example: The below setting would allow 70 images on 10 pages (10 pages x max. 7 images) If 71 images are selected the photo book will be created based on 11 pages automatically. The price for each additional page can be set in step 6. If you set the min. and max. pages with same value (e.g. min./max. 10 pages ) the customer has to use min.20 images (one image per page) and max. 70 images. No additional page can be selected by customer if you set both with same values.

The following two values for min. and max. images are set automatically based on the min. and max. pages in previous setting. You can increase the min. number of images or decrease the max. number of images but not vice versa.

Click “Next”. Step 5 “Pricing of the photobook” is the same as for ordinary prints. Please refer to the corresponding chapter on previous pages.

If the min. and max. number of pages is not equal, you can set the price for each additional page in step 6. If min. and max. number of pages are the same, step 6 to set the price for additional pages doesn’t appear.

Click on the green folder icon (red mark above) and set the price for each additional page.

Click “Validate” and back in step 6, click “Next”

In step 7 you can set the default background of this photo book product, but it can be changed to another one from selection by customer when creating the photo book.

In step 8 you can describe your photo book product and give some additional information to the customer about the content or discount like below sample.

4. CUSTOMER AND ORDER SETTINGS 4.1 CATALOGUE OF ACTIVATION KEYS (Tools\Catalogue of activation keys) To provide your customers a valid activation key to install and use “Photo&Book” you need to create a new one like below described. Click “New” to start key creation.

Select one of the payment methods you want to offer your customers. A multiple selection is not possible. If you want to offer some customers other payment method, please create another activation key. Check the boxes of each product you want to offer and include to this key. This can be done for all three categories “Prints, Photobook, Templates”. The default check box and each line end defines which product will be automatically appear in Photo&Book when the customer starts his desired product.

Click “Next” NOTE: Please care about that every change in your products (addition or deletion) will not effect the existing activation keys and needs to be modified in each key later on. Every customer who uses this key for installation after your changes, it will reflect in his installed version. Existing customers who uses already your Photo&Book software before your changes, you need to select or delete the corresponding products in each customer account.

Describe the newly created key that you can identify it in an easy way in case that you’re using several activation keys.

Click “Next” Step 4 shows you the summary of the new key

Click “Terminate” to save and finish the key creation. On following confirmation screen click “OK”.

The following screen gives you the opportunity to set a name for this key which will be printed on the labels if you want to create a label sheet with activation keys for your customers.

Click “Validate” The next screen shows you the created activation key which can be used to install (register) the Photo&Book software by customers. Please provide it to your customers in any way, like by email, label on a CD which includes also the Photo&Book software (created by yourself) or on rear side of a business card of your shop, mentioning the download link for Photo&Book as well (http://www.photoandbook.com/photoandbook.exe)

You can also print out the activation key on a standard label sheet (provided that a standard A4 printer is connected to the computer) and select the content as desired. The quantity value sets the number of keys to be printed.

4.2 CATALOGUE OF CUSTOMERS (Tools\Catalogue of customers) Your list of registered customers will be displayed as below screen. When starting this mode, the list is blank due to the missing filter. If you don’t like to search for a specific customers but want to see all customers, just click the button “Filter”.

Each customer who installs Photo&Book will be listed automatically in your customer list. By pushing button “New” you can also create a new customer by yourself to provide him the Photo&Book software already registered on CD or USB. Then you have to set all details like name, address, products, payment method etc. as displayed below.

In step 2 please set the customer name and address.

Click “Next” If the billing address is same as above (step 2) step 3 to set a different billing address will be skiped. Otherwise select “Yes” and set the billing address in step 3. Each customer account has to be active before it can be used by customer, therefore we recommend to leave the default setting to activate it immediately.

In step 5 you set the offered products for this specific customer. This procedure is same as in previous settings for each category “Prints, Photobooks, Templates”.

Click “Next” In step 7 you can select the desired language and select a CD/DVD burner if available in this computer, otherwise you can save it also to a USB key by pressing button “USB”. Please provide the created media to The specific customer that he can install it at home onto his computer.

When using the prepaid system (pack) as payment method, you can load some packs to the account by pushing the cash icon (red amrk below) in the row of desired customer.

Set the check mark if you want to credit or debit the pack and type the desired number of packs (points) into the field “Packs”. Push the button “Add.” to save your settings to the account and press the button “Terminate” to save and leave the menu.

4.3 HISTORY OF ORDERS - SERVER (Tools\History of orders - Server) This mode shows you the history of received orders and with a specific time of approx. 14 days you can do a re-order by selecting the desired order and push the button “Reprocess”. This just works if the corresponding images are stored (archived) and still available. Otherwise this option is not selectable.

5. SETTINGS FOR USAGE OF EZ CONTROLLER 5.1 SHARING FOLDERS To be able to use the incoming and outgoing images from HPT within EZ controller the following steps are necessary to get the correct access. - Right click on folder "QSS" and select “Sharing & Security”. Share the folder for other users to be able to access from minilab/printer (red mark below) - Setup the folders "PJPin, Order und BookOrder" as Network Terminal Path in EZ-Controller (blue mark below). The setup for folder PJPin and BookOrder is just necessary if you want to offer photo books. How to setup the “Network Terminal Path”, please see next page.

5.2 NETWORK TERMINAL SETTING Function\Management Tool\System Management\Network Terminal Setting -> Button “Addition” To create a new Network terminal please click button “Addition”

Please set the data as displayed below. If you want to “Pause” the orders from HPT in EZ Controller instead of automatic process, select “Set the order status to pause” for “Operation when receiving an order”. If you want to archive the HPT orders, please uncheck the box “Do not save the order” (Default setting).

5.3 OUTPUT MEDIA SETTING Function\Management Tool\System Management\Output Media This setup is just necessary if you want to create photo books with preview in EZ controller PJP. Please set the service name and parameters on each tab as displayed in following four screens.

5.4 PRINT CHANNEL SETTING FOR PHOTO BOOK PJP Enter the mode Function\Management Tool\Print Channel, select channel 300 and press button “Setting”. Setup the channel as displayed below only on tab “Output Media Setting” and uncheck all other active tabs.

6. HPT KIOSK 6.1 CATALOGUE OF KIOSKS (Tools\Catalogue of kiosks) To create a kiosk version please enter the mode Catalogue of kiosks and press the button “New”

In step 1 you can set a name for your generated kiosk and also set the IP address of the computer where you want to install the kiosk version. Select “Local” if the kiosk will be used in local network or select “Internet” if it’s connected via internet broadband line as a satellite in any other shop/location.

The next step asks about the activation of the newly created kiosk. We recommend to activate it immediately

by selecting “Yes”.

The setting in step 5 is same as for the activation keys. Please refer for details to chapter 4.1.

In step 7 you can select the desired language and select a CD/DVD burner if available in this computer, otherwise you can save it also to a USB key by pressing button “USB”.

The following information appears when selecting USB. Please care about the content of this message and press “Close” if you agree and want to continue.

Click “Close”

Set the desired USB key into your computer and select it from drop-down menu. Depending your computer settings, the following path (below “F:\) may be different. Select “Validate” to write the created kiosk to your USB key. After writing has finished set the USB key to your kiosk computer and open the folder “Setup Photo And Book” and start the installation by double-click on “InstallPhotoAndBook.exe”

Back in the display “Step 7” select “Terminate” to finish the creation of kiosk. It will be shown in the

“Catalogue of kiosks”.
