Converged network adaptersThe HPE converged network adapters (CNAs) are dual port adapters that provide Ethernet, iSCSI, and FC connectivity over 10GbE using both FCoE and Converged Enhanced Ethernet (CEE) standards. By consolidating Ethernet, iSCSI, and FC onto a converged adapter, HPE CNAs reduce the number of separate adapters and cables required for your data center and also reduce operational power and cooling costs while preserving existing Ethernet and FC infrastructure.

HPE CNAs have also been thoroughly tested with HPE ProLiant servers and HPE ToR switches to deliver an outstanding HPE FCoE solution for your data center.

HPE Optical transceivers

Performance and reliabilityHPE Optical transceivers offer improved performance and reliability, as well as compatibility with HPE storage and computing products. They are designed for customers that require the highest levels of connectivity, performance, and reliability from their HPE SAN.

HPE recommends using only HPE’s high-quality optical transceivers (SFPs) in HPE SAN environments. HPE transceivers are qualified to plug and play across the entire HPE SAN storage product family, including HPE 3PAR Storage Array, XP, EVA, and MSA platforms, as well as with nearly all HPE Fibre Channel switches, routers, directors, HBAs, and blade server switches.

HPE PremierFlex fiber-optic cable—features and benefits•Significantly improved performance under acute bend: These cables have 135 percent

higher bandwidth and less modal dispersion than standard OM3 cables, and 840 percent higher bandwidth compared to standard OM2 cables.

•Lower maintenance costs: HPE PremierFlex fiber-optic cables are less susceptible to signal loss in typical routing applications, which means more uptime, less troubleshooting, and lower operating expenses.

HPE Intelligent Infrastructure Analyzer SoftwareThe HPE Intelligent Infrastructure Analyzer Software (IIAS) is an online monitoring and diagnostic solution that helps manage the physical layer of a SAN consisting of HPE StoreFabric B-Series and/or H-Series Fibre Channel switches and directors, HPE 3PAR StoreServ Storage, and HPE StoreFabric Fibre Channel HBAs. It is also supported on select HPE switches. HPE IIAS can be used to monitor and diagnose the physical layer of a SAN in real time, with an emphasis on the SFP transceivers in SAN switches and FC HBAs in servers or storage arrays. It also presents the SAN topology and inventory information to the user. The product can be used to detect potential failures in the SAN for root cause analysis and failure impact assessment. HPE IIAS improves the total data center quality experience by predicting switch optical link failures before they are reported, and aims to reduce the cost incurred due to application downtime. HPE Smart SAN—target-driven peer zoning (TDPZ) for HPE 3PAR StoreServ Storage implementations

HPE Smart SAN is an innovative and standards-based approach through collaboration with HPE SAN partners that leverages Smart SAN enabled hosts, fabrics, and the HPE StoreServ 3PAR array to provide an end-to-end solution that makes SAN configuration and management simple and reduces the probability of errors through automated switch zoning.
