Client QCCR1J91357 Microsoft Internet Explorer crashes unexpectedly when closing ALM Client. This problem occurs when using Windows 10 and Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.

TLS 1.2 Limitations

• Lab Host: Lab Host is not supported when ALM is configured with TLS 1.2. • ALM Webgate Customization tool: If an external tool (e.g., UFT, Load Runner, Business

Views Excel reports) is using the ALM Webgate Customization tool, TLS 1.2 is not supported when logging in to ALM.

• Excel add-in: .NET 4.5 is a prerequisite for working with TLS 1.2.

Multi-language Support

UNICODE Compliance You can enter text in more than one non-English language, when working with an Oracle UTF-8 database. For MS-SQL databases, you can define your projects as Unicode to allow multi-language support. You can also convert existing MS-SQL projects to be Unicode compliant. In addition, you can enter non-English text regardless of the system locale setting on the ALM client machine. However, if the ALM servers are not Unicode compliant, non-English characters entered on the ALM client machine appear as question marks.

Multi-language Support To enable multi-lingual support the DB and FS servers must support Unicode. Unicode is a feature of MS-SQL that allows multi-language support. In Oracle, multi-language support is defined when installing the server.

Requirements QCCR1J83945 When generating a project report for requirements and the baseline filter includes attachments, the attachments are not displayed. QCCR1J83962 The Convert to Tests option displays the following error when using custom lists: "Field requires a value from the corresponding list - the status field on the requirement is filled in with a value from the drop down". QCCR1J83989 Setting the value of the "REQUIREMENT_REVIEWED_FIELD_AUTOMATIC_UPDATE" site parameter to 'N' is ignored. QCCR1J83839 After creating a table in a memo field, an extra space is inserted after each cell. QCCR1J81081 Bullets and numbered lists are displayed incorrectly in the project reports. LAB QCCR1J83749 After applying PC 12.20 Patch 1, the “non-default” user passwords are changed. The PC Server is deleted from Lab Management. After attempting to add it back, an error indicates that the User ID already exists with a different password.

ARIS 9.8 Support

ALM supports the following ARIS 9.8 components (some ARIS icons are slightly different from the corresponding icons in ALM):

ARIS 9.8 Limitations Model Types:

• When importing models from ARIS 9.8, you can import standard EPC (Event-driven Process Chain), EPC with column-display, and EPC with row-display. Other EPC notations are not supported.

• FAD (Function Allocation Diagram) can be imported, however it is not officially supported by ALM.

• VACD (Value-added Chain Diagram) is not supported in ALM.

• BPMN 2.0 (Business Process Model and Notation) diagrams created in ARIS are supported by ALM.

• Performance degradation may occur while importing models when a significant number of imported models/activities already exist in your project.

Assignments:

• If a node has several model assignments, only the first one will be imported to ALM.

• Adding an assignment to a connector is not supported. BLOB/Pictures/OLE:

• Importing embedded pictures, OLE objects, and wallpapers are not supported.

• BLOB type attributes (attachment-like) are not supported. Combined-type and User-defined Entities:

• Combined type attributes are partially supported in ALM.

• System-defined list type attributes are partially supported in ALM.

• User-defined list type attributes are not supported in ALM.

• User-defined attributes are partially supported in ALM.

• User-defined symbols appear as base symbols.

• To enable mapping attributes to user-defined fields in an existing model, you must delete the model from ALM and reimport it back from ARIS XML.

Pathfinding:

• Pathfinding is not supported in cycles. Miscellaneous:

• Automatic creation of requirements for non-activity nodes is not supported.

• If there are two or more consecutive activity nodes and a non-activity node follows, the generated path will not be connected to the non-activity node.

• Importing text format is not supported. For example, font size, text color, bold or italic font style.

• Some visual properties are not supported. For example, 3D format and shadow effects.

Requirements

QCCR1J82357 During process of migration from QC11 to ALM 12.21 noticed the following issue. Created a requirement and linked it with some test cases. These test cases were executed in a test set from Test Lab and, even if all test cases have status = Passed, the ‘Direct Cover Status’ column in Requirements is populated with ‘Not Completed’ (refreshing the page several times, but no change). On QC11 'Direct Cover Status' is set to "Passed" in the same scenario (the same test cases). QCCR1J79823 When the customer highlights any statement in the Rich Text tab in Requirements, the font color changes to a different color. QCCR1J79960 Correcting words using spellcheck in rich text also changes the font. QCCR1J79324 Rich text fonts default to Arial 8 for new lines. Site Admin QCCR1J79866 PC/ALM 12.20 LDAP authentication issue When the user enters the wrong credentials during login, the user's authentication data can be overwritten with other user data. This can happen if the LDAP attribute mapped to the ALM username is not unique in LDAP and user A inputs user B credentials. Example:

user joe has the following LDAP DN - cn=joe,ou=Acounting,dc=example,dc=com user joe2 has the following LDAP DN - cn=joe,ou=Sales,dc=example,dc=com

user joe has the password: hello123 user joe2 has the password: hello132

If user joe tries to login to ALM and incorrectly enters hello132 as the password:

a) ALM tries to authenticate on LDAP the user with DN cn=joe,ou=Acounting,dc=example,dc=com and password hello132 b) This fails, and the auto-import feature of ALM is triggered c) ALM asks the LDAP server for a list of users whose cn = joe and gets a list with both joe and joe2 d) ALM tries to authenticate the first one from the list with the given password (hello132) e) On success, the authentication data of joe is overwritten with joe2's data

(Auto-import is useful if the LDAP data of an ALM user has changed or is incomplete)
