Govcrnmcnt of Himachal Pradesh Department of Elcmcntary Education No. EDN-C-A (3) 3/ 20l3-Vol-II, Shimla, Dated Notification \q-(\t~-.;{.ojb '7 In exercise of the powers conferred by section-32 of th~ Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act. 2009, the Governor Himachal Pradesh is pleased to notify the remodel the process of Continuous ~lI1d Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) for all the Elementary schools run by the State with immediate effect as follow: - 1. Evaluation of students shall be done in two terms. Terms I (Winter clo:-;il1g schools-February to June and Summer Closing schools-April to September) and Term II (Winter closing schools- July to December and October to March) with effect from 2016-17 session onwards. Evaluation would be continuous but at a stipulated time-period. as per annexure-l and progress of students to be recorded in a separate register to be maintained by each teacher. 3. Under oral evaluation, teacher would give marks to the student on their reading, comprehension. discussion and answering abilities and record in the n:gister. 4. Regarding Formative Assessments (FAs), teacher may take class tc~;t as til1d . when feel necessary but at stipulated time as per annexure-I. ,[ \vell designed and organized test will be conducted at class level or 60 tu 75 minutes. The marks of these tests would be entered in the register for n~con.l. S. Evidences or progress, assignments and other activities would be maintained in the form of Student Port Folio. 6. In exercise of the powers conferred by section-32 of th~Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act. 2009, the Governor

be again revised so that continuum is not broken and students do not l'::1cc

problem in subsequent classes.

8. In addition to scholastic part,' CO scholastic aspect of students is a\so

important. So some important domain like extra ordinary achievemenrs.

interpersonal relationship, moral values (honesty & respect for others)

national values, social adjustment, cleanliness, cultural aspects etc. would be

considered.

9. In Summative Assessment (SA), in order to avoid rote memory. some

problem solving questions, creative writing, picture reading; tind the odd

one out. reasoning, one word answers. till in the blanks. MCQ. jumbled

sentences, comprehension, diagrammatic representation, short answers and

detailed answer etc. would also be included.

10. The School Incharge, PrincipaliHeadmaster/CHT as the case may be shall

ensure that all teachers under their charge maintain class and subject wise

proper record of student's achievement in self made registers ClS already

noted above. The inspecting teams which visit the schools from time to time

will also see the CCE register.

11. Learning gaps found in the students would be addressed by the teachers by

taking proper remedial measures as per the specific needs.

12. The Weightage to be given to Formative and Summative assessment IS as

per anncxurc-2.

13. On the basis of marks achieved in Formative and Summative assessment

each child would be awarded grades as per the table given below:

14. Schools which are at11liated and register~d with Himachal Pradesh Board or

School Education, Dharamshala, H.P. shall evaluate students as per CCE

guidelines provided from time tO'time and maintain records.
