Frequently Asked Questions1. Why do I need to migrate? In 2008, HP

announced it will focus its investment in identity management products on existing customers rather than selling the products to new customers. To ensure that they continue to have access to exemplary identity management solutions, existing HP customers can take advantage of this program and migrate to industry-leading offerings from Novell. Customers who choose not to migrate will continue to be supported by HP.

2. What are the benefits of migrating to Novell Identity and Security solutions? Novell Identity and Security solutions offer:

– Wider breadth of application integration – Increased solution breadth – Deeper cross-vendor testing and

interoperability – Simplified management and

administration – Award winning identity and security

management solutions

Novell, HP and SAP have a unique relation-ship that brings additional value to customers in managing identities at an enterprise-wide level in heterogeneous environments.

3. I currently own HP Identity Center products; what are my options? HP and Novell have developed a migration program to provide comprehensive support through-out the transition process. Current HP Identity Center customers have the following options:

– Until May 16, 2009, where possible, Novell is offering full equivalent license credit for current HP Identity Center customers. To qualify for full equivalent license credit, customers must begin migration to Novell Identity and Security Management products and purchase the corresponding support and maintenance before May 16, 2009.

– From May 16, 2009 until May 16, 2010, where possible, Novell is offering 50 per-cent equivalent license credit for current HP Identity Center customers. To qualify for 50 percent equivalent license credit, customers must migrate to Novell Identity and Security Management products and purchase the corresponding support and maintenance before May 16, 2010.

– Customers who migrate after May 16, 2010 will not receive Novell license credit for HP Identity Center licenses that were purchased before the official migration announcement on May 16, 2008.

– Existing HP Identity Center customers who choose to purchase additional HP Identity Center product licenses from May 16, 2008 through May 16, 2009 to meet their current business requirements will receive an equivalent license credit for Novell Identity and Security Manage-ment products. To realize 100 percent of the license credit, customers must migrate before May 16, 2009. To realize 50 percent of the license credit, cus-tomers must migrate between May 16, 2009 and May 16, 2010.

– For customers who do not wish to migrate to Novell Identity and Security Management products, HP will continue to support HP Identity Center customers through 2013.

4. If I choose to migrate, what assistance is provided? Customers can obtain bids from HP Consulting and Integration (HP C&I) for migration consulting and support. Customers can also obtain bids from Novell Consulting® for additional assistance. Novell Consulting can collaborate with HP C&I during the migration process or after migration to help customers further lever-age their newly installed Novell Identity and Security Management products.

5. I have HP Select Identity; what is the comparable Novell product? The Novell product comparable to HP Select Identity is Novell Identity Manager. Novell Identity Manager is licensed on a per-user basis. HP Select Identity customers will receive the equivalent number of internal and/or external users.

6. I have HP Select Identity Connectors; what is the comparable Novell product? HP customers who purchased HP Select Identity connectors on a per-user basis will migrate to Novell Identity Manager Integration Module. HP customers who purchased their HP Select Identity con-nectors on a per-instance basis will be converted to a per-user basis during the migration process.

7. I have HP Select Access; what is the comparable Novell product? The Novell product comparable to HP Select Access is Novell Access Manager™. Novell Access Manager is licensed on a per-user basis, so HP Select Identity customers will receive the equivalent number of internal and/or external users. However, because Novell Access Manager has the functionality of

both HP Select Access and HP Select Federation, customers will receive the sum of unique users licensed for their HP Select Access or HP Select Federation installations.

8. I have HP Select Federation; what is the comparable Novell product? The Novell product comparable to HP Select Federation is also Novell Access Manager. Novell Access Manager is licensed on a per-user basis, so HP Select Federation customers will receive the equivalent number of internal and/or external users. However, because Novell Access Manager has the functionality of both HP Select Access and HP Select Federation, customers will receive the sum of unique users licensed for their HP Select Access or HP Select Federation installations.

9. I have HP Select Audit; what is the comparable Novell product? The Novell product comparable to HP Select Audit is Novell Identity Audit. Novell Identity Audit is licensed on a monitored-device basis, so HP Select Identity customers will receive the licenses necessary to monitor the Novell Identity and Security Management products to which they migrate. These licenses will be in effect until per-user licensing becomes available. Novell Identity Audit provides customers with an easy-to-use tool for collecting, aggre-gating and reporting on events from

Novell Identity Manager, Novell Access Manager, and other Novell identity and security technologies.

10. How long will it take me to switch from HP to Novell? We anticipate that most migrations can be completed in a rela-tively short period; however, migration times may vary based on the breadth of software installed, special configurations and other factors.

11. Can I deploy Novell Identity and Security solutions on the platforms my HP Identity Center products are currently using? Novell Identity and Security solutions support a wide range of server and client platforms, including SUSE® Linux Enterprise, Microsoft* Windows* and others. 12. How will the costs of my new Novell products compare to what I was paying for HP products? For those HP customers who decide to migrate in the near future and receive full or partial credit for their existing HP licenses, we antici-pate that costs will remain the same or be reduced.
