Printer Software Information

Before you can use your printer with any software pro

Custom versus Typical Installatio

During installation, you may see a dialog box asking iTypical or a Custom installation. The Typical installatioHP recommended software.

Pausing Your Printer Between Pa

Occasionally, you may need the printer to pause so thspecial media, such as letterhead. If you specify Mansoftware, the printer will pause before the first page a

Resetting Your Printer

Resetting the printer accomplishes the following:

Clears all data from the printers memory (including udownloaded fonts, and macros).

Finishes printing the current page. Removes some error conditions.

Resets the printer to its factory default settings.

Press and hold the Front Panel button until the three begin to blink in succession (about 5 seconds), then lAfter resetting, the Ready light will remain lit if no prinfound.

Managing HP LaserJet TonerCartridges

It is recommended that you use HP LaserJet toner cadesigned the printer, toner cartridge, and toner formuto give you optimal image quality from your printer. ToLaserJet toner cartridge, see Accessories and Suppappendix A.

You can expect a toner cartridge to print approximatewhen you are printing typical business letters with tex

5% of the page. A page containing graphics uses moshortens the life of the cartridge.

Extending Toner Life through EconoM

An excellent way to extend the life of your toner cartriEconoMode. EconoMode uses approximately 50% lenormal printing. The printed image is much lighter, bu

printing drafts or proofs. You can set the EconoMode software (refer to online help for more information).

Extending Toner Life by Redistributing
