C: Slice G2 Teams Rooms- System Set-up

1. How easy is it to set-up HP Elite Slice G2 for Meeting Room with MTR? Slice G2 for MTR is extremely easy to set-up with no tools required whatsoever. You will have all that you need in the package. Ensure that you connect all the modules and the console as indicated in the set-up guide. The mechanical and electrical set-up of the device should not take more than 10-15 minutes.

2. Do I need to install the HP Cable and Port Cover adapter? We have designed the port cover for better cable management, and it should help you with cable routing on the table. Though it is not technically essential that you install it, we highly recommend using the port cover since it eliminates any accidental tampering with the cables on the back of the Slice G2 system with an extension of the cables if needed in a clean presentation.

3. How does my Centre of Room Control (console) connect to the main unit? The Center of Room Control is a small touch display made for MS SRS. It uses a type-c connection from an Alt-DisplayPort type-c connector. It connects to the back type-c connector on the back of the Slice G2 unit. With the HP Cable and Port Cover adapter, there is a type-c cable that attaches to the Center of Room Control (console).

4. Can I use WLAN instead of LAN connection? It is highly recommended to use a LAN connection instead of a WLAN connection for better user experience. The WLAN configuration is not part of the MTR setup if the LAN is connected. If the LAN is connected, it must be done in the Admin account configuring like Windows to a router and then rebooting the Slice G2. If there is no LAN connection, then MTR setup will prompt for the WLAN access point connection.

5. What should I do next after installing all the modules and finishing the mechanical & electrical connections? Boot the system and complete the MTR setup process if bringing up for the first time. Ensure the Teams Rooms is on the Center of Room Control (console) with meetings listed on the left and Meeting Room options on the right side of the screen.

6. The system prompts me for keyboard layout at boot time. What should I do?

Pick the appropriate keyboard layout needed for the virtual keyboard and OS language for MS SRS.

7. Are there any special configurations I need to choose based on single display room or dual display room set-up? If the configuration is a single display room setup, not changes to the display settings are needed in MS SRS. The default for MTR configuration is single display configuration (with the Center of Room Control (console)). If dual display setup is configured, go to the third screen of the Features section of setup to enable dual monitor mode.

8. How can I install a personal theme that gets displayed on the front of the room display? Yes, a user provided image file can be used that meets MTR requirements. Go to this link in the Custom Theme Images section for more info on configuration.

9. How can I change the name of the conference room that gets displayed on a display and the Center of Room Control (console)? To change the name of the conference room in MS SRS, the network administrator would make the changes in the conference room account on the server.

10. Will my display automatically go to sleep when no one is in the room?

Yes, MTR timeout is set to 10 minutes. After that, when a person comes into the room, the presence sensors on the Center of Room Control (console) will automatically wake up the system.

11. What happens if the setup is close to done but I cannot complete the setup on the last screen?
