DESCRIPTION
This session will demonstrate how HP business transaction management (BTM) software can help you shift IT staff from infrastructure monitoring to monitoring the health of critical business services, based on business criteria such as dollar value and order volume. We’ll show you how BTM can reduce finger-pinging between application and operations teams by deep triage workflows, based on the business context, for your J2EE applications and other middleware components. You’ll learn how it can help your IT operators understand the impact of J2EE and middleware component faults on critic business processes and services. And we’ll show you how it can give your business users visibility into transaction performance and at the same time give IT visibility into SLA performance.

What Is Transaction Management?
“At its essence, BTM is aimed at detecting and resolving problems at the granular level of interactions between IT elements that
form a business transaction (e.g., online stock trade, travel booking).”Source: IDC (Document # EMT1P) : Business Transaction Management:
Another Step in the Evolution of IT Management, D. Yachin, March 2007

Transaction Management Analogy
You can with HP’s Business Transaction Management solution!– Track your business transactions across
your infrastructure, like FedEx tracks parcels across their logistics network
– Peer into a transaction’s business data to see key attributes like customer identity
– Readily answer when asked “Where is mytransaction?”
What if you could track transactions like FedEx® tracks packages?– FedEx® can guarantee overnight delivery
– A package is tracked throughout its journey in complex distribution network
– Customer experience is improved by resolving issues quickly and prioritizing critical deliveries
