How to put on the full armor of God Bible Study Part 1: w/ Pop

The Epistle of Ephesians was said to have been written by the
Apostle Paul to the Jews and the
Gentiles whose constant conflicts were threatening to divide the
church. Paul was imprisoned
during this period and was insistent that the church was the
body of Christ, therefore should not
be divided among themselves, or else, how could they stand
united among men?
Paul tells them be strong, to rely on the power of the Lord's
might (strength) and his words of
advice can clearly be used by us today during times of duress or
when we feel weak or troubled.
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of
his might. Eph. 6:10
The Armor of God as described by Paul
Paul tells the Jews and Gentile to put on the Armor of God so
that they will be strong enough to
withstand the sneaky ways of the devil. You can use this same
armour today to protect yourself
and your loved ones.
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand
against the wiles of the devil.
Eph. 6:11
Why we need the Armor of God
It is not people made of flesh and blood we must fight but it is
spiritual warfare which we must
fight against, powers that come from the ruler's of darkness
(evil).
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but principalities,
against powers, against the
rulers of the darkness of this word, against spiritual
wickedness in high places. Eph. 6:12
Paul described the armor of God which we can use to protect
ourselves from evil.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be
able to withstand in
the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Eph. 6:13
To protect ourselves we must cover ourselves with truth and
righteousness .
Therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having
on the breastplate of
righteousness; Eph. 6:14
Our feet should be busy preparing the gospel of peace (telling
everyone about Jesus
Christ)
And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Eph. 6:15
Our faith in Him will give us protection from the things that
the wicked try to do to us.
The wicked want to stop us from telling people about the Lord
because the people we talk to
may be saved. When we have complete faith (belief) in the Lord's
abilities to stop wickedness

from harming you, in essence you are believing that the Lord
will help you to withstand the awful
things that could come against you
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be
able to quench all the fiery
darts of the wicked. Eph. 6:16
When we are saved we wear the helmet of salvation. Our sword is
the Holy Spirit with which we
will destroy the wicked.
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the
Spirit
Eph. 6:17
When we pray we should pray in the Spirit and watch over each
other praying for one
another in perseverance and supplication.
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit,
and watching thereunto with
all perseverance and supplication for all saints. Eph. 6:18
The Lords Return is Getting Closer
The time of the Lord's return is closer than you think, don't
get caught sleeping on the job.
And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake
out of sleep: for now is our
salvation nearer than when we believed. Rom. 13:11
Put on your armour of light that is our Lord Jesus Christ and do
not participate in rioting,
drunkenness, wanton physical desires, arguing and jealously or
envying one another but live as
Christ lived and follow His example.
The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore
cast off the works of darkness,
and let us put on the armour of light. Rom. 13:12
Let us walk honestly, as in the day: not in rioting and
drunkenness, not in chambering
and wantonness, not in strife and envying. Rom. 13:13
But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for
the flesh, to fulfil the
lusts thereof. Rom. 13:14
