Slot Drain System Selected for Luxury London Leisure

Facilities

Howe Green’s HG200 Slot drain was chosen to provide a high quality, ultimately reliable drainage solution for ultra-lavish leisure facilities at Ballymore’s Embassy Gardens, the prominent Nine Elms development on London’s South Bank. The linear drainage solution is virtually invisible in situ around a luxurious 16m indoor pool at the high-end South Bank development, allowing the streamlined aesthetics of the contemporary interior and form of its tiled floor to remain visually uninterrupted.

The HG200 Slot Drain is part of a wider linear drainage range from Howe Green created for effective surface water management in both commercial and domestic applications. Manufactured to withstand demanding environments, Howe Green’s linear drainage products are equally at home in settings such as science laboratories, sports centres, surgeries and industrial/processing plants.

The ultra-discreet HG200 slot drain is available in modular form to suit most site situations including both level or sloping invert. It is also available as a made to measure system to suit specific requirements. It can be manufactured in 304 or 316 austenitic stainless steel, providing an easy to clean, hygienic solution. As it is produced from stainless steel it is also 100% recyclable and requires very little maintenance.

Howe Green Provides Easy Access in Quality Hill Homes

Howe Green’s Tile-a-Door + has provided the award-winning developer Hill with a seamless solution to accessing concealed bathroom services at The Scene in Walthamstow and at their Park View development in Sidcup.

Popular in commercial development and refurbishment projects, the Tile-a-Door + wall access panel is ideal for bathrooms, wetrooms, WC’s, kitchens and utility rooms in residential settings. The hatches can be custom made to the millimetre and are supplied ready to tile with up to a 10mm thick finish.

Magnetic latches or security lock options keep the panel neatly and securely in place whilst frames can either be discreetly visible or completely sealed for situations where only occasional access is needed. Howe Green’s range also includes the Waldor 50, a hinged access panel for more frequent access within tiled walls.

Hill have built a reputation for pioneering new homes across London and the South East and recently achieved a 5-star rating for customer satisfaction in the 2015 Home Builders Federa-tion independent survey. For Hill and their happy customers, Howe Green’s Tile-a-Door + panels provides added peace of mind that, should access for bathroom repairs be required in the future, getting to the problem will be faster, easier and more cost-efficient.

“The Howe Green hatches were supplied sized to fit our specific tile grids which made installation quick and straightforward,” comment-ed a spokesperson at Hill. “Our bathrooms are always finished to a very high standard and we want them to stay looking their best. The panels are a simple and cost-effective way to provide access to key plumbing points should maintenance ever be needed”.

Howe Green Access Covers Are Just The Ticket For London Bridge Station

Howe Green’s high quality access covers have been installed in the concourse at London Bridge Station in a phase of works as part of The London Bridge Redevelopment Scheme.

By 2018, London Bridge Station will be fully transformed with new platforms, more trains, a new concourse, bigger facilities and better connections for passengers. Eventually, the new concourse will be bigger than a football pitch, but in the first phase of the four-phase flooring project, new granite paving and screeding was required throughout the existing concourse area.

Howe Green’s heavy duty 1050 Series access covers were specified and fitted above mechanical and electrical services feeding the ticket line. The run of covers spans more than 25 metres

and will ensure that, when routine or emergency maintenance is needed going forward, gaining access to essential service points will not be a problem. The surface of the covers was inlaid with a ‘flamed pink’ granite paving matching the existing flooring within the concourse and providing an uninterrupted flooring surface.

Howe Green manufactured the covers to order. They were fabricated in 316-grade stainless steel and with a deeper capacity to accommodate a thicker granite floor covering, a standard feature of the 1050 Series. The panels sit flush with the

surrounding floor to prevent slips and trips and are double sealed for optimum hygiene. They are also tamper-proof for increased security.

The 1050 Series was designed for the most demanding internal and external environments. Capable of accepting heavy and sustained traffic – up to 6 tonne pneumatic tyre loads - the hatches are just the ticket for the highly trafficked London Bridge station, the fourth busiest in the country.

Howe Green Provides Easy Access to Essential Services at Southmead Hospital

Over 100 Howe Green Visedge access covers have been installed at Bristol’s £430million state-of-the-art Southmead Hospital, for the final phase of redevelopment. With the floors of the new super-hospital facing heavy foot traffic from millions of visitors, patients and staff each year, a heavy duty and tamper-resistant solution was required to provide access to under-floor drainage and services. The Visedge range provided a cost-effective and low maintenance solution.

Easy to install and unobtrusive in design, Howe Green’s Visedge covers are double-sealed to meet the highest standards of hygiene and security. The range was developed for use with flexible sheet flooring systems and its excellent resistance in highly trafficked areas has been proven around the world. Unlike similar products, the Visedge Series also allows sheet flooring, including PVC or linoleum, to be locked into the cover and frame by hot welding to a pvc section sealed to the surface. This creates a permanent joint and eliminates water ingress and peeling which can cause a health and safety hazard.

Howe Green’s 7500 Series stainless steel access covers were also supplied for the Southmead project. These were installed in ground floor areas of the hospital, where a heavier loading for service vehicles and bulky medical equipment was required. 7500 Series panels have a standard depth of 75mm with a minimal show-edge for a seamless look. They are suitable for internal and external paved areas and fire rated options are available to BS476:Part 20: 1987.

Howe Green Access Covers Take Off At Stansted

As part of the multi-million pound, airport-wide transformation of London Stansted, construction leaders Carillion and Galliford Try selected Howe Green’s floor access covers to provide reliable access to essential under-floor services. Over 250 bespoke panels and frames were supplied for Stansted’s new Satellite One and Departure Hall refurbishment, in two separate phases of works.

UK manufacturer Howe Green adapted its Stainless Steel 2500 and 5000 Series floor access covers to custom depths and incorporated additional base plate reinforcement to accommodate specific site conditions and meet the required loading. As well as single covers, the company’s innovative multi-part covers were also used. A series of panels set into one larger frame, they grant simple access to more complex junctions of service utilities.

Howe Green’s covers provide a high quality solution for easy access to vital underground services so that, should any maintenance be required, access is straightforward and will not require costly, time consuming and disruptive removal of paving slabs or flooring. The panels have tamper resistant features to provide additional security, whilst double sealing at the edges makes for enhanced hygiene. They fit perfectly flush with their surround to avoid distortion and prevent slips or trips.
