From our interim minister of music... Jesus replied, “Anyone who drinks from this water will soon become thirsty again. But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bub-bling spring within them, giving them eternal life.” -John 4: 13-14 NLT Jesus had been traveling all morning. Around noon, He came to a well. It was hot and dusty and He needed a drink. That’s when He encountered a woman at the well. Here’s what Jesus knew: she was at the well at the wrong time of the day. Women typically gathered water in the morning, not during the heat of the day, and so this woman had chosen to go at noon for a reason. Perhaps she had gone in the heat of the day because she thought no one else would be there. Except on that day, Jesus was there. Jesus knew she would be coming to the well at that time- and He even knew more about her and the Living Water she truly needed. God always meets us where we are. He specializes in meeting us in our brokenness. We may think life has brought us to a certain point because we’re just looking for water, but Jesus meets us there be-cause He knows we’re looking for healing, security and love. Ultimately, we are all the woman at the well. Jesus shows up in our lives, wherever our well may be, and offers us Living Water. He offers us what we need, yet we often keep looking for all of these other things to fill us up- our kids, our marriages, our finances, our homes, and our good deeds. I believe He looks at us with love and asks, “Aren’t you ready for the real thing that will make you feel full?” So many times we find ourselves filling lives up with things that won’t last and yet each time, God comes back and offers us the grace that only He can give. He meets us at the wells of our lives and gives us everything we need and so much more. Stop searching for solutions that won’t last and rest in the One who will.

March 17, March 24 and March 31 Native to Mississippi, born in Picayune, I was a lost church member. I was born again at 18 in a Revival service and called to preach at 19. I left for Clarke College two years later then moved to Florida Baptist College, then on to NOBTS. During this journey my greatest accomplishment was marrying Amanda and later having my 3 children: Gavin and now his wife Hannah, Cody and his wife Anna (and they have given me a granddaughter Lily Jane). Last but not least Jana my daughter. Sometimes in life we experience things we are not prepared for, in October 2014 Amanda went home to heaven. I surren-dered to Evangelism in October of 2016. For 33 years I have served King JESUS. HE is faithful.
