OSA Bi-Monthly Update January 15, 2018

ATTENTION ALL UPCOMING 7TH GRADE STUDENTS:

Students who will be entering the 7th grade for the 2017-2018 school year are required to have

one dose of the Tdap vaccine. They must have the vaccine administered before entering classes

on the first day of school. Parents may want to make plans to have this done now. You can drop

off the shot record at the STEMM office Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

STEMM hosts the Emerald Coast’s Odyssey of the

Mind Spontaneous Fair at STEMM on Saturday,

January 27th from 8:45-12:00

Digital designs are being accepted for the STEMM Spirit Shirt for 2018-19 school year. Please submit your design to STEMMPTO@gmail.com. The deadline to submit a shirt design is February 23rd, 2018.

Palmer's Writing Tutoring on Tuesdays until 3:00 p.m. in room 13.

PSAT 8/9 Additional test date will be offered March 28th. Due to the large number of 8th grade students registering to take the PSAT 8/9, we have added a 2nd test date. There are a few spots remaining if you would like your student to take the PSAT 8/9. This date is set for March 28th. The cost of the test is $10. If you would like to add your 8th grader to the test please contact Ann Harris, Guidance Counselor. 850-833-4120

FSA test dates: March 6: FSA Writing, all grades April 17-18: FSA Reading, all grades April 24-25: FSA Math, grade 6 and Pre-Algebra students May 1: FCAT Science, grade 8 May 2: Civics EOC exam, grade 8 May 8-9: ALG 1 and GEO 1 EOC exam Mark your calendar for the upcoming standardized tests. Please avoid scheduling non-essential appointments for your student that would prevent him or her from attending class prior to testing. FSA TESTING proctor volunteers are MUCH NEEDED. Parents, we rely on your valuable time during testing season. With the upcoming test dates if you are available to volunteer as a proctor we would really appreciate it. What is a Proctor? A Proctor is an extra set of eyes. That is all. A Proctor does not handle any testing materials, does not speak to any students, or have any other responsiblities except for being an extra pair of eyes for the teacher. More information to come as we get closer to testing. If you are interested in being a Proctor for any (or all) of the dates listed for testing please contact Ann Harris, Guidance Counselor, 850-833-4120.

Attention Students and Parents!!!

Yearbook Sales are starting!

The 2017-2018 yearbook is being created by Mr. Gee’s Digital Imaging and Design

1 class. The theme this year is “STEMM Through the Ages”. The yearbook will

cover STEMM innovations during different time periods from the Stone Age

through the Future. We are also including the evolution of our Stinger through the

book along with many other creative ideas. In keeping up with our growing school,

(more advisories and clubs), we have added 4 additional pages to create an 84 page

yearbook. Fortunately, we are able to offer the books at last year’s price.

Yearbooks will be $30 and can be ordered online by clicking on

the below image or the same image on the school website.

All orders must be made by March 29, 2018

The dance is scheduled for January 26th, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00

p.m. It is a semi- formal dance. Student clothing requirements must

conform to the non-uniform dress code.

Tickets on sale for $5.00 during lunch om the week of January

22nd through 26th. Each ticket provides each student with pizza,

desserts, drinks, and pictures. Come enjoy the music, dancing, and

friendship.
