How to use xbox live in a hotel room

Since i just came back from vacation about two months ago i found something really helpful to allyou people on a borring vacation or you hardcore gamers on vacation. I found out how to set-up yourxbox and how to set up your xbox live in a hotel room. It is quite easy but requires a bit of peopleskills to talk to the technisions( sorry for mispelling). I've looked online but there seems that nobodyhas an exact answer, though there is one involving a labtop, it is not that helpful.

Things that you Need:

Xbox 360

ethernet cable(usually included with rooms but on some ocassions it isn't) or wireless adapter(perferably the ethernet cable, i'll tell you why later)

I-pod touch or iphone

a hotel room with wireless connection

Sometimes when you go to a hotel room they have their red/yellow/white cable slot blocked with aplastic cover for certain reasons which i do not know. if your hotel has one of those old bulky tv'schances are the inputs will be blocked. Though its restricted you can ask the technician person orthe engineer guy to take it out and they might. Maybe a little Tip will help them XD. You will alsoneed to have them set-up the tv so that the input channel is activated. If your room has a Flat-screenthen there is no worry's because the the input channel can be activated with the remote and theinput slot should be open. I have been in both these situations. You shouldn't be ashamed, I amsixteen so if they do this for me they should do it for you.

When you try to plug in the ethernet cable or hook up the wireless adapter in a hotel room you maysuceed to hook up but it wont let you connect and the reason is simple. In order to use the hotelsinternet you have to go on thier homepage and agree to their terms of use despite if the internet is

free or not. Thats where the ipod touch or the iphone comes into play.

After you set up your xbox you want to go to turn on your i-pod and go to Settings>General>About.When you scroll you go to the Wi-Fi Adress and write down the number. This is your ticket to xboxlive. Now you go to you xbox and go to system settings. Go to network setting and select configureand go to MAC adress and plug in the code you got from the i-pod.

Now your basically done. You should have your ipod and conect it to the internet. It is usually slowsince its wireless. My friend said that there is a amount of wireless modems on each floor, so It hasjust enough so each room can connect to the internet. I know the internet is slow but it shouldntmatter, if you have an ethernet cable because its direct access to the internet, thats why its better tohave a ethernet cable instead of the adapter. Once your on safari with your ipod it shouldautomatically take you to page where you have to agree to the terms of use, or input room number,or password or etc. Once you do that just sign in to xbox live with your xbox and you should beready. You cant use your ipod when connected to live cause it will disconnect and you have toconnect to the internet again. Note: you have to agree to the terms every time you want to playagain after you turn it off.
