provides full-text access to literature covering computing

and information technology, engineering and related

fields including computer animation, games design and

music technology.

Subjects covered include computer theory, computer

systems, research and development and the social and

professional context of information technology.

The collection contains indexes and abstracts to more

than 2,200 academic journals, professional publications

and other reference sources, with full text access

available to over 1,000 journals.

To get access to this electronic resource off-campus, you need

to have created an Athens Account. If you don’t have one yet,

STEP 1 Log in to Weblearn

STEP 2 Open the database in your course

Go to your course and find the e-resources and e-books

section. Click on ‘Computers & Applied Sciences’ to gain

access to the database.

STEP 3 Sign in via OpenAthens

Enter your Athens username (ness0------) and password.

STEP 4 Search

Enter keywords in the search box for a basic search (e.g.

web development). When you begin typing into the

search box a list of possible search options will present

themselves.

STEP 5 Search Results

Then you get a list of results that match your search.

STEP 6 Filter results

Use the filters on the left hand side to make your search

more precise by limiting the results to full text articles,

publication date, source type, subject or publication

title. The list will be automatically refreshed.

STEP 7 Bibliographic details

Every article you find includes full bibliographic

information such as article title, author, journal title,

volume, date and number of pages. You will need this

information in your bibliography and references if you

use the article in your assignment.
