Recommendations for System Creation

We recommend to represent your systems as follows:

• Client Components

Create one (1) system per client component, e.g. Crystal Reports, and requestone (1) license key with all licenses.

• Server Components

Create one (1) system for the physical system, e.g. SBOP BI Platform, andrequest one (1) license key per installed server component, e.g. SAP BusinessObjects Dashboard Builder.

System ID check is performed tosee if SID is already in use

Enter a new System ID

Each request will result in 1 System ID with 1 to many licensekeys assigned



If you have requested a license key for aNEW system, but the system ID (SID)already exists under this installationnumber you receive this information.

If you would like to add an additionallicense key to the existing system IDplease select it from the drop downmenu and select the button Changeselected system

If you would like to create a new system IDplease select the button New System



Enter a system nameof your choice

A list of availableproducts is derivedfrom the licensedproducts in theassigned contracts

Click on Continuebutton

Enter the number of licensesrequired

The total number of licensesaccording to your licenseagreements

The remaining number oflicenses. Please note, thatkeys might have beenalready issued for thisproduct version under someother installation number(s),which will affect theremaining number oflicenses displayed here

Click on Save to proceed



Multiple materials andversions can be added tothe request; each line willresult in a license keyassigned to a systemnumber under one SID

The button Remove selected entry can only beused to correct or delete your pending licensekey request. This button can NOT be used foralready fulfilled license key requests.

Temporary License Keys

• Temporary keys for the SAP BusinessObjects range are available in a pdffile in the Keys & Requests section of SMP.

• These keys are to assist with product installation while permanent keys arebeing requested. This document includes:

• Section 1 - Temporary Keys for Current Releases-All Products• Section 2 - Bundles/Packages - License Key Information• Section 3 - Information on Ramp-Up Program• Section 4 - Temporary Keys for Older Releases

• Please Note:• The temporary keys must be removed from your installation once the

permanent key is installed.• The activation provided by the permanent key reflects the product-use

licensed under your agreement.• If you require a temporary key to trial or evaluate a product not already under

your agreement, please contact your Account Manager.
