Step 3. Quoting New Business • From the POLICY INFORMATION screen, you will establish

the“Smart Classification.” If the applicant has a D&B profile, classifications matching the SIC Code assigned by D&B will be presented. Click on the drop down arrow in the Smart Classification field to see the matches returned from D&B.

• If there is no hit (or to override the suggested classification), click “Search for Classification” to classify the business

• Search by Keyword, Industry Segment, SIC, NAICS, or Program Code. You may refine a keyword search by choosing a Segment first.

Tip: Keyword matches whole words or the beginning of words. Also, avoid using common words; e.g. sales, store, repair or service. For example: Use cloth to find classes with the words cloth, clothes and clothing. Typing tractor will return tractor trailer sales but not contractor. Type pet, not “Pet store” (the latter would return all classes containing the word store as well as pet).
