Team with the most goals wins.

THE PLAYING SURFACE

We will play on the gym floor.

Other surfaces include: Asphalt or concrete

POSITION: CENTER

Centers the forward line. Takes the face-offs.

On the left /right side of forward line. Get deep in offensive zone.

POSITION: DEFENSE

Responsible for protecting their goalie.

Can also shoot on opposing goalie.

Responsible for protecting the net at all costs. Keeping the other team with less goals

EQUIPMENT

We will use the following: Hockey Stick (plastic blade)

Goalie Net

Tennis Ball (to avoid injury)

Glove (for goalie)

DIFFERENT SHOTS: SLAPSHOT

Feet are shoulder width (parallel to ball)

Hands slide down on stick Wind up shoulder level Follow through

DIFFERENT SHOTS: BACKHAND

Wind up in opposite direction Aiming shot with back of blade

DIFFERENT SHOTS: WRISTSHOT Ball on stick upon release Lead with opposite foot Drag ball to generate power

PASSING

Ball is on stick Push ball to teammate Chop under ball to lob the pass

RULES

I will drop the ball for the faceoff. The offenses will cross the center

line. Defenses will remain on the their

defensive side. Goalies will attempt to keep the ball

out.

TIME OF PLAY

There will be three, FIVE MINUTE periods.

ONE MINUTE break in between each period.

Play will be stopped when: The goalie holds the ball The ball leaves the area of play Injury Time of play runs out
