Atex Italia has a wide range of accessories for cable glands.Starting with the thread adaptors: “A” Series male-female, “N” Series male-male nipples, “M” Series female-female couplings. Available in multiple combinations of thread and measurement.The available threads are ISO Metric ISO262-M, ISO228, DIN40430 Pg, ANSI/ASME B1.20.1 NPT, EN 10226.These accessories are useful when you need to adapt a hole device to a cable gland, reducing time and costs in the process of execution of of the system.To close the unused cable entries, ”T” series plugs are available.An indispensable series of accessories are also available to complement in different materials, such as locknuts, grounding plates, fl at gaskets, O-rings, spare part shrouds and rubber seals for the cable glands of the ”R” and ”B” series.All products hold ATEX, IECEx, EAC certifi cations.

Male-female adaptors (code: A)The male-female thread adaptors are used when the threads – type or dimension – of the cable gland and the hole of the equipment are different. The hexagonal adaptors fi t spanners up to 55 mm while the cylindrical ones fi t larger sizes.

Main regulatory requirements:The user has to use only one adaptor for the assembly of a cable entry. The user mustn’t to close an adaptor or a coupling with a plug. These accessories are intended for the assembly of a cable entry only. Accessories in aluminium are suitable only for Group II (Surface).

Degree of protectionThe cable glands degree of protection is IP66 or IP66/68, 30-metersdepth for 7 days according to the IEC EN 60529 standard; the degree of protection IP 68 is obtained by using fl at sealing rings on cable glands with cylindrical threads. Without gaskets, the degree of protection is IP 66. If the cable glands with cylindrical or tapered threads are screwed on the threaded hole of an apparatus, in order to guarantee an IP66 or IP66/68 degree of protection, threaded parts must be sealed with Loctite or similar. In order to maintain the IPX8 degree of protection, the cable entry shall be fi tted on enclosure witch satisfi es an immersion test under 30 meters of water during 7 days. Metric cable glands are made in accordance to EN 62444 Standard.
