b) Your existing client attends an international meeting and on their return is very interested in hosting the meeting in Asia!
c) You are approached by the Association to assist them with a bid to host

a)Does a fully-fledged local association similar to that of the association meeting exist in your country?
•Yes, with many members! Great

b) How proactive is the local association with Asia?
•Very proactive with regular local meeting & training sessions
•Reasonably proactive with growing interest and an annual meeting ?
•No formal activity, only a few interested members that meet on an ad-hoc basis

c) Is the local association’s objectives relevant to that of the international association, and does one of the members ‘officially’ belong to the international association?
• Yes, most definitely - a number of members attend the international meeting and the local chairperson serves on the international board

Example: Often local leaders, researchers and scientists go unrecognised in their own countries until such time as the world has recognised their work and contribution through meetings

b) Exposure of the universities and/or local association profile will increase
Example: Due to having hosted, or being part of, an international meeting may well attract the necessary funding and support for new research and growth

c) Opportunity for the local association members to participate and gain exposure to the subject matter presented at the international meeting
Example: ICCA 2013 Congress hosted in Shanghai, China – required a different approach in order to satisfy International expectations
