HOW TO DRESS FOR JOB SUCCESS
Attire There are three different categories of
clothing attire: Formal Business Attire Business Causal Attire Casual Attire
Formal Business Attire There are certain rules of formal business
attire that is required for certain jobs but they vary for different jobs as well.
Some jobs define formal business attire for men and women as a suit and tie for the men and a suit and heels for a woman.
The trick is to look conservative and professional.
Formal Business Attire Men: Women:•Suit (sometimes the jacket is optional)•Sports jacket is accepted sometimes•Leather, closed toe shoes•Tie•Dress pants•Button down shirt (preferably white)•Cuff links (not always a requirement)
•Suits (either with skirts or tailored trousers)•Closed toe pumps•Businesslike dresses•Hosiery•Blouses•Scarves
Business Causal Attire Aim for a classic and understated look. Pick clothing that is comfortable yet
communicates a professional attitude. Always make sure that you wear
something that could easily be converted into business formal in case of an emergency meeting or something else unexpected.
Business Casual Attire Men: Women:•Collared shirt (polo or oxford)•Tie (optional, depending on where you are)•Trousers of any color•Acceptable shoes (loafers)•Belt
•Blouse•Sweater (optional)•Conservative jewelry•Dressy slacks•Minimal patterns•Informal dress
Casual Attire This is what you would wear on the
weekend, not to your job. Do not dress casually to your job unless
you have been told a specific date in which you are allowed
Casual does not mean sweatpants and t-shirts or jeans with holes and strapless shirts.
No cut-offs either. Keep yourself looking clean and
professional.
