How to download and unzip a book from Bookshare, and put it on a Kindle

Go to Book Share.org and sign in.

At the top of the page in the search window Type in Title, author or ISBN number.

Select book you would like and click download.

Find your Student’s Name and click in the small box to the right.

Scroll down to bottom of page and click download.

Click on download again.

This page will pop up. The book may take a few minutes to processes.

When the book says Available Click on Available.

This window will pop up

Select the save as

Select Desktop Then Select Save.

You may now exist book Share.

Go to your desktop right mouse click on zipped file.

Click on extract All.

Extract Again.

A file will open up, it will look like this

Double click on the file ending with xml.

It will “Open With” Internet Explorer.

Go to tool symbol then go to 1 File. 2 Save as.

This window will pop up.

In the file window change the last 3 letters to html.

In the Save as type window Save as webpage, complete (*.Htm,*html)

Open Calibre- Ebook Management on Desk top

Find your book. Double click

click on Convert Books (if the author’s name is not in the window to the right please type in at this time

and Click “ok”

Plug in your Kindle.

Click on Send to Device Wait for book to download. Go to remove device/Kindle. Unplug Kindle and make sure book is there!
